Good looking layout, I worked at the Syracuse Supply cat dealer back in around 73 to 75 ? Before that Empire White Trucks: The cat dealer we worked in back in the day, it looked nothing at all like this set up. worked on the main floor and in Reman. I took up with SDJ Groves, followed the money. back in my day, It was the 666 scarpers I maintained... Scarper spreads. it was my bread and butter of it's day. The real money was in CA. worked the SD CA. dealer, reman. but moved back into the dirt. Been retired for a number of years. I been in many of the western state's dealerships. This shop lay out looks good. fits the times. I didn't see anything relating to the power train department or related components. With all those skid steers and the like, I would think that would be a critical part of the shop customer support.
GPS is awesome on a big construction site! But if you can’t grade within a “tenth 1.2 inches”then you need to turn off your grade assist and learn how! To me running equipment no matter if it’s a roller, dozer, trackhoe, blade, scraper, backhoe. Etc. It really is a art form I was blessed to be able to pick up on running equipment very early when I started out! And learn everyday something new! Seriously I do! Each machine is just as important on the jobsite as the next. And pushing yourself and that machine to its optimal capabilities is what to me. Is a great operator! And learning how to listen when advice is given and actually watching somebody operate and use that knowledge of how they are making the right moves and learning from the wrong ones. To best incorporate into you own style of operating!
I operated loaders 30 years ago and just recently jumped on a 972. I love it. Ive asked a couple of trainers what the different buttons do and after a lot of waffle they don't really know.😆 Thanks for sharing mate. Regards from Western Australia.
I work in the oilfields, where everything runs on diesel... from operating 2500 horse power pumps, driving commercial trucks or running loaders or excavators... you can't beat cat!
