@@Chillax1420 ChatGPT (and the OpenAI API) creates content that is very samey and long-winded. It also overuse certain words & phrases that make it obvious it's generated content. I'd recommend trying out the other models, like Cluade which are better at writing long-form content.

Maybe it isn't hesitance... maybe it's just the fact that everyone who wants one has got one, and the market has dried up? And we are now seeing a complete crash in buyer interest in countries that have withdrawn the tax incentives... which hints that even those buyers were only in it for the money - not anything as grandiose as 'saving the planet'?

Slowed because the early adopters geeks already bought theirs. The rest cant stand EVs, or dont have the money or interest rates too high, or still driving their ICE cars or dont want to be mandated by the govt.
Exactly. The same tech bros who sleep outside an Apple Store to be the first with the new iPhone were fine with Tesla's poor build quality. There was a lot of status associated with showing all of your buddies insanity mode, touch screens Easter eggs, or pop-up doors. But soccer moms in the suburbs need cars that are reliable, safe, and affordable. I was actually considering the Ford F-150 Lightning to replace my aging Toyota Highlander, but they doubled the price so it became an instant no for me.

@@texaswunderkind , maintain it well. I'm still driving my 2004 Buick, 2005 Envoy. In the garage are 2 classics or collectibles and got engines ready for each one, in case the 289 , ford, goes out or the L18..nissan . I aint buying no damm EV..cost way too much..
As someone who owned an EV, who lost it to an accident, and replaced it with a regular hybrid. EVs are phenomenal on paper, and i loved mine, but theres no way i could justify buying back into it. Its a cool toy to play with but if i didnt have a gas car as a backup i would of never been able to get by. Plus my lexus hybrid cost the exact same to run as my old ioniq did, and the ioniq was rhe most efficent ev ever sold in north america. My lexus gets 40mpg and with gas at 3.50 a gallon it cost the same per mile.
There is one big problem: the best lithium,or, now, sodium, batteries have less than 300 Watts per Kg of battery weight; diesel or gasoline have 10 000 Watts per Kg, that's over 30 times more; and because of that we will never see cordless Trucks, Trains, Planes, Ships etc; Cordless Cars are hugely heavy, very unpleasurable to drive , like loaded trucks; avoid; Oil is a heavenly blessing, it gives off CO2 (back to the Earth, on Earth nothing can be created,only transformed) and that is what Trees and Plants EAT; they keep the Carbon, the C, for their bodies, and they give off to us, the Oxygen, the O2; The Green Hysterics and the Climatoids are mistaken, badly mistaken, killing us with their witchcraft laws; In car engine failures alone, because of their laws, (EGRs, Particle Filters, Electronic everything,friction reduction etc), they are really killing us,some engines die at 20000 and cost over 20000 to replace, and they´re dying by the millions, it's already a catastrophe what is happening. while they observe, but keep their mouths shut.
The bottom line is simple- EVs are not for everyone. It is a fact that EVs cost more at the start, they require a lot of wattage to recharge , they wear tires out much more quickly ( due to weight and acceleration ) and if you don't have a home charger (some homes, older homes, don't have but 100 amp service to the entire house) then you are stuck in q lines waiting to charge your car. People who spend a lot of time in the road are going to stay with ICE vehicles. Personally, I don't like wasting time waiting to charge a vehicle or waiting for that vehicle to charge, however long it takes. I have a KIA Soul and it is a zero emission vehicle that get 40 MPG. I only drive about 60 miles a month (retired and need only meds and groceries). Any way, this upload cover quite a lot of ground....
That isn't the issue (Luxury). EVs are spontaneously combusting too frequently and any impact damage to an EV can total it. If you need to replace the battery in a 4 year old EV it is totaled, not worth fixing....
As someone who owned an ev that was totaled from a fender bender, their insurance rates will 100% never go down, and they had to pay top dollar on the payout. Evs are a massive liability
I faced a similar challenge with my Car at the Charging station. Bayarea has plenty of charging infrastructure, but most of the charging stations seem to need fixing. Even my apartment complex will change 2X of Money, which is not fast charging. I must travel 10 miles to the correct charging station every time. 😔
Until there is a much better and cleaner option for batteries the EV market will continue to be dirtier than the average ICE car. And the rising cost of electricity doesn't help, either. Not to mention the electricity is supplied to the grid by fossil fuel sources. Add the cost difference of an EV as opposed to a similar ICE car, there is absolutely no reason to get an EV....
EVs are junk, or toys for the rich, they are not practical, they are polluters, they add to the heat load of our environment, they are recharged by power plants that are running 24/7 polluting the atmosphere to generate the electricity to recharge them. The EV batteries are an environment nightmare, they are hazardous waste that will need to be disposed of and will be the cause of additional pollution of the earth. There is nothing green about EVs.
Governments should not be subsidizing EV sales or infrastructure. The adoption of this technology should be organic, meaning it is driven solely by consumer demand and corresponding investment by the private sector.
You forgot about the very long lines at existing public charging stations adding hours onto what is already an intrusive delay when charging your vehicle. When you couple that situation to so many public chargers being out of service it is enough to make an person ditch their EV. The price you pay for the electricity at public chargers is terrible and ends up costing more than pump gas. You also forgot the worrying incidence of battery fires and mishaps that while not as prolific as ICE vehicle fires they are far more serious and harmful to property, people, and infrastructure. Another big negative, especially for the USA, is that most peoples favorite vehicle, the pick up, will not perform in EV mode due to its weight and that it is used to tow things with thus making it even heavier and even more unsuitable for battery power. You are trying to sell people vehicles that are only useful and operational in a small bubble that man people don't live in. If you are well off, drive mainly in urban environments, are able to charge your vehicle at home preferably with renewable electricity, and have access to repair technicians that actually know how to fix our vehicle then you live in the bubble.
