Even if 75 didn't spend a lot of time running on Heber Valley, I'm glad she at least got to double-head with 618 sometime during its short period running there after being purchased. Still, I know someday it'll be back as I heard somewhere its also under rebuild like 618.
Can't argue with right. Its mapped as limestone but a geologist thinks a possible lava tube and another tracked me down to tell me how much he disagrees. If 9 things lined up like this naturally there wouldn't be golf. Always love hearing from you in the field.
You made things wonderful good useful beautiful make human life happy you science education original God bless you and protect you,,,, I wish made cars every thing strong stay forever like steam train seem your level falls down because strangers savagery
Love the input, It was an incredible time. Did you see the story of her getting to Heber? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TFEdeUZ9xHk.html
Huh, had no idea if any footage existed on 618’s last run before going out of service. Still, knowing her last train was a tourist train over a photo charter is great seeing as post 2007, that was pretty much all heber valley was using her for.
Appreciate your input, it was unadvertised, I found out and had to commemorate it and that last frame is a real abrupt heart-breaker. They'd do photo freights on the the 19th of September because the leaves are perfect. Those last few runs as a working train were priceless.
Watching this sure brings back memories to whenever I watched 2 train DVDs I had where 618 did 2 different photo charters in the winter. While she’s been out of service since 2010, it’s good knowing she’ll run again, except her current rebuild is going slower than expected and who knows when she’ll be back. Still, thanks for sharing this video as I feel like there aren’t many vids on 618 on the internet these days.
I love it, thanks for your comments. I tried to stay out of those DVD producer's shots. Great to hear enthusiasm for seeing her run again! I am making up for all those years they said I was just a "hot water boy!" Dare I say, "Foamer!" As a former, foamer, I am ready to see it run on hydrogen fuel-cells.
Once again, absolutely gorgeous shots, sweeping and relaxing, but never losing focus on the main appeal. I was so moved by these videos that I went ahead and searched up old 618 here, after remembering seeing some comments in your last video I believe, that lead me to believe she was left to rust somewhere. It warmed my heart, in turn, when I read she was in the process of being restored, as of twenty twenty two, at least. Tell me, friend, do you know of her current state?
618 is still at the Heber Valley RR, and still under a slow restoration. Heber has been focusing on improving lots of things, and haven't had much time to put 618 back into service.
@RocketStephen618 Ah, well certainly better than being forgotten or scrapped. It would be a wonder to see her, one day, steaming her way across the snow covered slopes and meadows as seen in your videos.
Love the input! Likely, the cost to do the work and then keep it operational has well-exceeded any practical profitable limits. A trend should start where generosity can come along and with a few million dollars make quick work of what is left. The #75 is just as glorious! Who knows are the #35 and #36 still out there penned up in Henderson? Back in the day there were traffic jams of steam locomotives on this one track, and there is always that dream to get the band back together, but it won't be done easily with $5 family nights and hot dogs. Opening a 100+ yo engine is a can-of-worms. My idea is for Coke to pay to paint them like Coke and Diet Coke cans with the stripe. Just their social spikes from videos and photos will pay for the restore and #75 in chrome or temporarily silver-leafed would look otherworldly. What eccentric billionaire or influencer like MrBeast wouldn't want to do that? The railroad with VC needs to buy all that old property, restore it, those historic stations, the old timey town etc and bury the hatchet. It's streams of next-level revenue sitting there like Chuck E Cheese on a smoke break. It makes the whole town look run-down when it could be so much more. It is ironic that this fake ghost town is the office for family services. But Heber is too small, they say. NP - Divert tourist traffic away from the town and highway and that alone will pay for the diversion. Obviously optimistic but some of these content creators should be clamoring for the chance to shout, "I rebuilt this steam locomotive from pieces and turned it in to the Coors Silver Bullet, Camel Ultra Light, or Pringles can!"
@gib-berry That would certainly be interesting, a little tasteless in my eyes to turn such proud historical machines into mobile soda advertisements, but whatever gets them back in action I suppose.
@@soundwavesuperior7522 Completely agree, the railroad deserves better than the proud machines are currently getting. I'm fine if the town meth dealer wants to do the restore with a modest plaque, but a few days dressed up for a MrBeast stunt or advertising beats the dilapidated, bare-minimum, trust me, eye-sore status-quo. Thanks for your input.
This is one amazing video! I really do appreciate the look of 618 when it was under the OSL. Very classy. Also, may I add my input for the deep tone whistle. From the looks of it, its Hancock Step-Top Long Bell 3 Chime, it almost sounds to me it could've come off of one of Union Pacific's Big Boy or even a challenger. Either way, it sounds wonderful! Do we have any extra information on Mr. Manwiller's whistle collection??
Great input so appreciated. He may chime in, probably has some very interesting bells and whistles. I am comparing 618 (1068) at 1:00 in this video to #75 on the same curve on this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pjj_S_8pdi8.html and they do sound different but perhaps same intonation like a D and B flat? How can anyone tell for sure?
@@gib-berry if it did happen, I could see either one of these locomotives being chosen or Union Pacific 4014 or Union Pacific 844. Either that or maybe 3985
@@lucasquintanilla1673 Right on - I'd love to see 3985 again. Salt Lake got rid of the 833 display for the 2002 Olympics and 4014 just blew through. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qcVv_oM5JcA.htmlfeature=shared
Definitely an upgrade from the 1068 era. 618 isn't currently operational and the light doesn't work at all but she has a history of bouncing back with lights, bells and whistles and all. Plus with the conversion to oil, less of a pyro.
Great footage and editing, Gib! 618’s regular “baby whistle” had problems with its steam valve, so it wore two others”foreign” whistles during this photo-freight outing.
Many thanks Craig! People love those whistles! At the end of this video does it sound like the whistles they use at Promontory? Exciting to see so many people enjoying the Heber Valley Railroad.
The “hooter” whistle at the end of the video belongs to Mike Manwiller. I believe it is a Norfolk & Western whistle, typically used on N&W freight engines.
A quite note, this is not the whistle from 75. 75 has a Flat Top Hancock 3, while the whistle in this footage is a Steptop Hancock 3. Either way, this and all of the other new footage you've posted is wonderful, and I can't wait for more!
The physical scale of it and how it must’ve looked in its whole form has been the most shocking and difficult thing for me to grasp. Still haven’t. Keeps getting bigger somehow. You’ve helped a lot with the sphinxes thank you! It’s right here but we believe a bunch of lies that someone has spoon fed us… that’s the nauseating part for me. Bioengineered lies off a plastic spoon for $14.99 taste pretty yummy tho! And you can use the spoon to dig out a mine in record time.
They rumble though the sky often especially when Mitt Romney was a presidential hopeful. One of those things that needed a closer look. And did you know he had two houses 900 feet from perfectly east/west from each other? 15 miles apart and on a line that perfectly splits the Salt Lake Valley and terminates at one of a few nearly-perfect pyramids surrounding the Deer Valley resort parking lot. You can see them without any help from me. They look unlike the surrounding terrain, much like the ones in Visoko, Bosnia. The guy that lives in one of the houses now is supposedly a race car driver. My best guess is because there is a tunnel down there and he is the sub-Uber for billionaires. If I am wrong, and probably am, it is a missed opportunity for Mitt who loves tunnels and mysterious garages.
@@gib-berry i've known mr mitt is a member of hearst&co and i've known about the subterranean transit but i didn't know i could work for hearst&co as a sub-Uber driver! Sounds like the real American Dream. Applying now.
0:19 what map are you referring to? one that you've created? one i can find somewhere? you're seeing what's really there and everyone else is confused (fused with cons) thanks to hearst media empire etc. the entire USA is covered in (and sits on top of) pyramid complexes (Utah is an extra special spot tho with extra special deceptions crafted for us peasants)
Maps are typically composites of the Giza layout over the area. Details like that are best seen at medium.com/@gibberry Exactly right that the Hearst connection is a smoking gun. It shows that his mines in different parts of the world had very similar internal workings relative to the repeating, predictable topography. The Great Pyramid has three-in-a-row Queens Temples next to the 3rd pyramid. Here is the pattern IRL. Those saw-tooth slabs of rock rub against each other and create the kind of energy needed to recreate the conditions of the Big Bang. So even if it is a coincidence, well beyond chance, what a bonus we have the geometry of the Giza Plataea almost perfectly represented in this area, complete with the obelisk and underground workings. If just me and the dogs wanted to, we could create a machine where the rocks rub together, creates St. Elmo's Fire, captures lightning and will charge everyone's EV's on-the-go. I know I didn't Make that up. I didn't make mountains repeatedly align to a mysterious design. Really appreciate your input.
wow great eye thanks for sharing. they loved their mammoths and mastodons. massive emotionally intelligent domesticated animals capable of lifting and transporting the weight of mighty stones used to construct pyramid complexes and sky scraping obelisks... a perfect animal for a circus tent! 😥
It could all just be someone skilled with a ball-peen hammer and a love for the pachyderm too. The difference between us and something more advanced is we still use muscles and beasts of burden. Surgeons are still moving the scalpel. Light could be the ultimate frontier and it is too bad AI wasn't more advanced before AR. We could be looking at sculptures created by artificial forces in a 'video game' from far away, long ago. Ironic it remains fiction right under our feet. So it is very speculative and the nature of these early COVID discoveries. These are just being released because at first, I wasn't certain but now, it is possible there are full--featured glyphs like this almost everywhere on this island with a repeating motif. All near the 315 foot perfect rectangle corridor some call "giant's cave." You know what I mean. And while that has all been supposedly debunked, you know like UFOs once were, it is one of those things that begs for another look. Now after four years the focus is on Eardley Spit and two others parallel to it. It is the longest spit anywhere, 3.5 miles and almost perfectly east/west along the same corridor as I80 and a concentration of features, caves and man-made structures like a smokestack obelisk as high as the sky scrapers like the Empire State Building. It is 30 feet shorter because there is no gift shop. They are painting it to look like a cigarette and would be expected to have the Camel logo soon. Appreciate your input. Here is part 2 if you are interested. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--pfag9AiW7s.html
@@gib-berry what a treat dropping me an unlisted! i devoured all your vids and medium articles already. thanks for your responses. even if i don't respond to each point you make it's being taken seriously. i've done a lot of what you're doing down in happy valley (just more mountains and lakes down there.....) i paused vids on my channel because my understanding of what I was looking at jumped to different levels once i returned to ut and ca and I've been working on how to share it concisely (i'm sure you know the feeling). if you have the time and interest i think we could share with each other and learn a lot from each other. i can't wait to grab a baseball cap with a cigarette obelisk embroidered on it from the gift shop! hopefully a ball-peen hammer too like you mentioned. i have some mountain-esque construction plans for which i need one. maybe two
@@gib-berry the algorithm was definitely ZERO help. these algos don't share the real stuff. hearst&co (which you're sick of seeing me type) program them to bury the goods (so they can mine them later) i was running searches for "great salt lake pyramids" to see if anyone else out there hallucinates as much as I do when I look at the dead sea and its pyramid walls. i've searched "utah pyramids" a bunch of times previously and never found you but because i threw in "great salt lake" as part of the search it populated your medium article then from there found your yt. refreshing to see a regular person hallucinating pyramids. thanks a bunch for sharing. will email thanks
COVID 19 got us out hiking. I got extraordinarily lucky with a geologist willing to listen to my non-sense and direct it. On March 17th I wrote to the nearby mine and newspapers about the anomaly and my early sketchy research. The next day a 5.7 earthquake emanates from a pyramid shaped mountain possibly masquerading as a mine dump. Aftershocks continue and sometimes they coincide with places that also coincide with the design. Like you, Hearst, Smith, Washington, the earth is speaking and I am just reporting what I hear and see. Thank you for your comments.
@@gib-berry i think it's safe to say with the discernment you've been given you've also been given some protection but just like the black choppers that keep us safe there are hearst&co agents planted throughout all the trustworthy organizations that kindly gift us laws, loans, utilities, media, and of course, tesla evs!! i felt that earthquake in lehi btw and left utah shortly after to go explore usa while everyone was locked indoors by hearstmedia&co. found a bunch of stone architecture and pyramids oddly. strange times... strange times...

@@gib-berry Well there’s a secret tunnel that transports the ball from the flick of the wrist down through the swoosh of the sparkling white net. I kind of think that’s just a myth tho. Expert govgeologists have yet to confirm. Must be pending. They’ll get around to it. Looking forward to it. (Your future videos and them getting around to it)
I think you are right on about both. Water seems to be the prevailing theory. Every property of it is exploited to make the machine function. In this area there was once a 1,000 foot deep Lake and the canyon was carved by rivers, erosion and ice. A possible scenario that we would do is send a machine or beam of light to manipulate or terraform a planet like a ball of clay in to something useful like a galactic outpost for a physical craft that is traversing the cosmos. Could have been a one shot deal and there was no life or alien left behind. A cactus in the desert exploited by a weary traveler. Whatever the case, even the early pioneers to the area knew it was extrodinary.
@@gib-berry Not sure if you are familiar with Aztlan. I am wondering if they benefited from, or were a part of what you are documenting. They probably didn't build it, but were aware of it, and benefited from it. Which is why they used the shape, but not the function.
@@gib-berry Sorry, the above title is a youtube video, and 3:20 is when Montezuma explains to Cortes that foreigners came and made everything for them, and left. Lots of time passed (many generations), and he thought Cortes was coming back to take control.
