THEIR ARE NOT ENOUGH CHARGERS AND STILL TAKE TO LONG TO CHARGE
@HoranandBirdEnergy
@HoranandBirdEnergy Год назад
We agree about not having enough chargers...the infrastructure is still in an early stage and we are helping to expand that. We will get there soon:) There are a lot of improvements still to be made, but by using one of the available big DC chargers, you can probably charge your car in 20 minutes or so which is alright when you are doing something else. What you want to do is top up the battery of your car while you are doing something else, like sleeping, having a coffee, at the gym, doing your groceries etc., that's why chargers in places such as Hotels/motels, shopping centres etc are the go-to when looking to charge your car:)

I'm pretty sure the 'benefits' of cheap fill-up will be negated this financial year with the 26% increase in power from Ergon. This of course will be added to every charge station, and no doubt every motel that adopts the chargers. And, as a driver of the common ICE, I don't want to see the price of my accommodation increase further because of an EV driver wanting "free fuel" for overnight charging of their 80KWh battery (using your free wifi analogy). If 10 EV's charged 50KWh into their tank, that's $166 extra added to the business per night, yeh?? 500kWh per night if they're a popular place. I'm happy to be wrong here, but I fear the more EV's start pressuring motels to have chargers on their room walls, the more prices will just keep skyrocketing. "Supply and Demand". **(I am an owner of one of your solar installations in Townsville, so don't take this as me being 'anti-EV', I can't seem to justify an EV with my 9KW solar setup as the recharge time at home won't offer me any real savings, since I own my ICE cars.)

Hi Keg, that’s actually a good point. We understand that people are concerned that electricity prices are going up. However the main reason for Electricity going up was due to the high Wholesale price of power from the sky rocketing price of oil and gas due to war in Ukraine. With the smart technology of Electric Car Charging, Electric Vehicles can be used to actually reduce the demands on the grid. For example Car Chargers can be programmed and called on automatically during the day to soak up excess solar or charged late at night in off peak times. Then the vehicles will be able to export power back to the grid with bi - directional chargers during peak times of demand to significantly reduce the cost of power. Further to this your car will provide you with back up power for outages and cyclones. It costs the average car around $17 to $20 in Electricity to charge up compared to $100 in fuel.
