Midwest customs and frame repair, (where we make the impossible possible) I created this channel to pass on general knowledge and how to information on many car related subjects including frame repair and rust repair in hopes that I can help others build their dream vehicles
What's up. What is the brand of your cut off tool. I like how small it is up front. The one's now are really bulky and I afraid it will not fit inside so I can finish the cut along the seam. Thanks
@@hogansmith7589 that one in the video is off the mac took truck, it’s one of the bigger ones they sell, they sell a smaller one as well but it doesn’t have as much power
Once u take hood and fenders off There is 8-10 body mounts that have bolts going thru the frame into the bottom of the body, u will need to take all those out, then disconnect your brake lines from the master cylinder and your steering shaft from the bottom of colum (in the engine compartment) And there will be a square electrical connection on your firewall that needs to be unhooked Other than that it’s pretty straight forward If u don’t have a lift u can use a engine hoist to lift the front then the back
Great video , you actually gave me everything i needed to know. I have a 2008 Suburban & bought a set of 2008 Denali seats & the plugs are just like yours.. So thanx for makin this video
When you dropped that cut piece of the old frame on the ground, there wasn't a solid sound like solid metal would make. You could tell the rust and water intrusion, then freezing, thawing, refreezing and thawing over the years has turned that metal in to nothing but dirty cornflakes. I'm glad I can across your channel. I see your RU-vid name is Midwest Customs, where are you located?
I'm basically in the middle of doing the floor in my tracker as well. I bought replacement panels from mill supply and nor/ram. What's your plans for the 4 center body mounts? The ones under the front floor boards mount to the floor pan support crossmember. Both of mine are shot. Can't find replacements. Looked for hat type channels but can't find the same dimensions. And the 2 body mounts in front of the rear tires are gone too. Any tips will be appreciated
Did a nice job I have a 89 Camaro Rs T-Top with floor pan rust as well. Where can I get a set of floor pans that’s not too pricey. I’m doing a restoration as well. I need a bit of pointers
@midwestcustoms5804 oh ok. That's what's up. I'm going to buy a 14 malibu dash tomorrow. Can you please tell me everything I should get from the donor car to make it work? I saw that the dash is on a metal frame in the car, will I need that too? Lmk bro thank you
