It’s nice to be pleasantly surprised, eh? I’ve loved Disturbed from “The Sickness” onward, but I was floored by Draiman’s power behind a song I already knew well. I love not only can he front a rage filled band and uses a lot scream in his work, but he can also handle more delicate works like Simon and Garfunkel but put his brand on it. Best of both worlds in my opinion :)
That honestly was probably just as good a winning the contest. Who else can say they have had the chance to perform with Sir Tom Jones live. And not even be involved in the music business
I sat with my wife on settee watching this. She was not really a fan like me I said to her just watch this performance from Ed...she didn't move just focused in a trance...the song ended and she turned around and said "What the hell did I just watch" since that night she's been a EdSherran fan more than me Brother.. Ed's not only loved by Gen X Y Z but he has gone worldwide with Fans all over the GLOBE ❤2ALL ✌👍🤜🏽
Goosebumps on top of goosebumps. So glad you watched the live Conan show as I think it’s a smidgen better than the video as you’re not distracted by the visuals , just listening to his powerful voice .
Two different styles all together. One is a “showman” the other in a interpretive class of his own . Some people just seem the need to throw in so many different musical tricks you tend to lose the feeling of the song. That’s what you got with Dalton….it was a show. While obviously he has a talent for sure I felt nothing during his rendition other than it was a canvas for his vocal prowess. A true vocalist leaves you feeling the story and wanting more ,none of which Dalton achieved, specially with that song.

I really enjoyed your analysis of this beautiful song...his vocal skills and mastery in creating wonderful songs make James a complete artist,in my opinion .
