Funny that Teppei has a broken string during the solo; I guess that was a common occurrence. When I saw them in '05 and they played this one, it sounded a bit off. Dustin said after: "That's what happens when you break a very important string"
I was at a show for this exact year in Portland, OR for Thrice, Thursday and Coheed And Cambria, one of the best shows I’ve ever been to, Thrice playing Artist in the Ambulance, Thursday playing War All The Time, and Coheed doing an acoustic set of In Keeping Secrets, due to a illness from a member, but man, LEGENDARY show! Blew my 16 year old mind. Changed my life. 37 now, still my favorite band of all time. Thrice is the fuckin best.
Yeah I'm pretty bummed this isn't on Spotify. It's an amazing cover they did. I'm my opinion one of the best cover songs of all time.. even better than the "back that thang up" cover by "my gay uncle"
Amazing to see this footage, I was there in the crowd! I love Thrice's newer material too but The Artist in the Ambulance will always be my favourite album
Yeah. I’ve always found it fascinating that he’s pretty much always had good pitch control live. It’s just the way that he sings has evolved over time but I’d say for the better.
They were pretty damn big around this time lol but yeah, they absolutely could have been an arena level band if Island believed in them and the same goes for Thursday possibly even more so
I miss this generation of music. Sure I could say it’s the best, like everyone else says about their generation of music, but I am willing to say it was probably the end days of great generations of music. Too much of it isn’t even people playing music anymore now days.
Man I wish they would've re recorded that and motion isn't meaning and put it on the revisited aita because Dustin's voice is so much deeper and gutteral than it was when he was young just not as much power but I think if they would've gotten someone to scream with him for both of those other songs that would help a lot and bring the intensity like how they did paper tigers and under a killing moon(the arguably heaviest songs on the album with the most screaming at least)
This was my first introduction to Thrice. I listened to the lower quality version and just loved it so much that I could listen to it over and over. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Thrice by a friend for a different album/sound, but I always come back to this song when I'm in a Thrice mood. I wish that there was a full blown cover done by them with full engineering. <3
