Back in 1975 Burt rutan made an impossibly great aircraft out of foam and fiberglass that is still a winner. Get some hardwood flooring and cut stripes.

brilliant! I love the wood, sometimes a simple clean board works out nicer than a more elaborate patter/design with different colours
