Those were the days. Back in 1987 to 91, we would close Benson Avenue in Bensonhurst from 16th to 15th Avenue and part of Bay 10th Street and go crazy for 2 days. The night before the 4th was just the warmup. Then the next day at around 6pm was the show lasting all night until 1am. Then the police crackdowns finally came in 92 and people starting going away to legal places to fire them off. That is when it started dying out. This is a great video. Thanks for the memories.

Great video can you please update us on the pentair pool heater, do you like it, would you recommend it. I am looking to purchase a pool heater it would be great to hear your feedback.
I have my heater for 4 years now... not one problem so far. I love it. I have a tarp I cover it with, and I disconnect the pipes and store them in my basement over the winter. So I take care of it.
I have a oval pool 18'x33"x52, the pool guy recommended a LP gas, Hayward H series 150K BTU, I'm in NY. He figured by the pool water surface, not gallons, make sense? 150kBTU is enought? I hate to get a heater that will be running at max to give 1° an hour. LP is not chiep, $3.90 gl. If anyone have suggestions, pictures will be aprecieted.
Nice clean plumbing. Not trying to bust chops, but those outlets should be at least 6 ft from the edge of the water. And the heater also needs to be bonded by grounding wire to the frame of the pool. That grounding rod you have now is great but make sure its grounded to the pool frame also. Tie the grounding wire from the heater into the same wire as the pump. That way it is also bonded to the frame of the pool. Otherwise looks great!
Can I ask what your experience is with this? Not being a dick just genuinely curious. Friend of mine and myself are starting to do gas line install and heater installs and piping heater to filter and pool and definitely want to be as professional as possible so I’d really like to have a full understanding of what exactly it is you’re talking about with the electrical side.
I didn't think about that with the outlets. Good info, thanks. I grounded the frame last yr because a few other people on here told me that also. Thanks again.
How far did you run the 1" gas line into your house? Do you have a 1"" feed at the meter or 3/4"? Did you just tie it in somewhere in the basement? Nice job by the way, I'm thinking about buying the same heater.
Exactly how im going to do it, except i will put a check valve before the chemical dispenser so that if it is off, the chemicals can't seap into the heater. Thanks for the video
I guess I come back every 3 years. Was this movie ever released? It hurts my heart how 86th St has changed. The smells are disgusting. The streets are littered with garbage. I'm glad I got to see the best of 86th times.
Funny how they listen to music from black musicians , yet at least one the end of 86 street is the Marlborough project and they would scream up the N-word and looking to fight. If you want to Guido they would gang up on you. always six against two. It was the Bronx tail of the 80s.
Back when the neighborhood was the neighborhood. It was a glorious time. Guidos were all over the place. It was before grunge and before the tiny hats decided to change the area into little hong kong.
I was a little concerned about the mixed reviews, but I used it last year and hooked it up again this year and it was great ru-vid.comUgkx-izdrK3eF-HMvjzeBOxToD6Fx-4ulJUh . I couldn't get my 10' Intex pool above 76 degrees the year prior and last year I got it to 90 and had to put ice in it. This worked so well! I have just 1 mat hooked up to a 1,000 GPH Intex pump and it makes a significant reduction in the flow rate coming back into the pool, but that is to be expected with how far the water has to travel through the mat.
I grew up in Bensonhurst 20th Ave & 61st street. We had some crazy nights around the 4th,. One of the main guys lived around the corner, so we used to get a lot of powerful stuff.
Comment just on electrical ground rod should be driven all the way down into earth nothing sticking up second that’s a Romex indoor connector on yr power cord it should be a weatherproof connector it’s called a cgb connector
