I record videos from live stream cameras in Latvia , Estonia and around the world.

It looks like #2 is going to survive his sibling's attacks as long as it remembers who eats first. #2 won't be forgetting that anytime soon. Lesson learned. Way to "hang in there", #2! Thank you, lizm.
Jo,since this year hardly anyone in the forum has documented anything. I am mainly with my Latvian black storks. So I only document special events with the golden eagles. I didn't have time to observe the 2 hours of feeding closely. But I don't think it spat out the pellet. Feeding started shortly after Mom arrived. It was able to eat. I was surprised that it was possible.
I saw that too. I was just telling my bf about that, how all the things they can't digest, feathers, fur, bones, toenails, all get rolled up and cast out like a big hairball. Then I had to explain hairballs. 😸
They were down feathers. But it looks like #1 has damaged the skin very badly. It could be that nothing will grow there anymore. We will see, #2 will stay in the nest long enough until it has the juvenile feathers
#2 knows he must wait until #1 is finished eating to eat himself if there is any food left. He looks all worried when #1 just even looks at him. I'm happy both ate well 😊
this behavior shows mom that #2 is hungry and it shows the older sibling that it will wait. This way no further injuries will happen. And, Mom feeds as soon as #1 has had enough.
