Welcome to my Channel. I call myself the Tennessee Yankee cause I was born, raised, and spent most of my life in Michigan before moving to TN. I moved south to be closer to warm weather, warm lakes, a long summer, mild winter, and an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities in the mountains.......of course no state income tax and great cost of living help too :) My channel is a mix Tennessee Living, How To's, and Reviews. Occasionally I will post links in my video descriptions to help direct you to tools or parts I used in my video. Clicking on these links will help you get to the product faster, as well as help to support my channel. Hope you enjoy, consider subscribing, and thanks for watching, Jeff a.k.a. Tennessee Yankee

@@TNYankee2020 I saw that it says you can use it for non potable water I just don’t see why I can’t use it for drinking water, it’s just seals, hard plastic and some metal maybe in there, I don’t see how it can be harmful
Thank you, from a current Michigander, your video saved even opening the instructions for this assembly today. No matter what I do to tighten that nut on the brake, I get freewheeling hose, that part isn’t fun. Still solid product, I got the hose and sprayer too. I did, unfortunately, find on their website only the hoses are made in USA, everything else is from China.
My dad just gave me the 1994 John Deere 445 that he had bought brand new, along with the 54" mower deck he had gotten to go with it, another 54" that he got used (for spare parts), and a 48" deck that came off a junked 425, which has a Power Flow attachment on it. He also gave me the snowblower that he got a few years after he bought the tractor (he used to use a plow blade, before he got the blower). He upgraded the plastic valve covers to the later aluminum ones years ago, and before he gave me the tractor we replaced one piston and both sets of rings. He had replaced the failure-prone plastic gears as a preventative measure already. Runs nearly like new!
So you'll agree it's the last tractor you'll ever need 🙂. What a great amount of attachments and a legacy. Thanks for watching and sharing your comments
Input on measuring fluid level in transmission from JD manual… 3. Remove dipstick. Wipe dipstick with a clean rag. 4. Install dipstick until it rests on top of fill tube. Do not tighten it.
I have a '93 John Deere 445 and has been a great tractor. However, after mowing for an hour or two it will not start back. I have to let it sit over night to cool off then it will start. Any suggestions?
I would start with the coils, I have another video related to that. I had a similar issue and it was the coils. It was an easy fix. After some time, the engine either stalls or won't restart after being turned off. This happens because the ignition module or coil heats up during operation, and if it's failing, it may stop working once it reaches a certain temperature.
Good afternoon Tennessee Yankee. Excellent job of demonstrating the assembly of the hose reel. The cam lever brake is a pretty cool feature. Unwinds and winds nicely with a little foot pressure. Looks like a solid product. Thanks for sharing!
Good morning houndsman, thanks for the comment. Seems to work pretty good. Last night I put up the bird spikes. We'll see how those work. Thanks for watching my brother.
That was a really good cover, well built, I built a lean to so I don't have it any longer. But whoever I sold it to was happy to get it. Thanks for watching
Thank you, I was just thinking about my jet ski today. I don't have it anymore but I sure miss it. It was a great machine and I'd buy the same exact one again.
Good morning Tennessee Yankee. Excellent idea that is a lot safer than using a ladder. I could use the telescopic ball retriever that's in my golf bag. Thanks for sharing!
@@TNYankee2020 is yheu the 15-19 or 15-17 or whatever size rear? There are two rear tire sizes. On the new LX3520 and 4020 you can actually run a mid mower with the bigger rear tires. On the previous iteration only the smaller rears would work with mid mowers and that's why most dealers stock the smaller ones I think 🤔
I would get a 10-footer and put it at least 3 ft in the ground or a 12-footer and go 4 ft. Mine isn't quite deep enough but I have a crappy place to start with with lots of rocks.
Great anchor just heavy as shit and scared im going to whack something with it when retrieving and putting it away. I keep it in a milk crate in my ski locker.
Can't argue with you one iota there. It is so heavy, but i love it, drop it in and forget it. Love the milk crate idea but that would be a little to square for my center toon. Thanks for watching.
Howdy Tennessee Yankee. Frank sure likes to swim, it was fun to watch him motor in the water. The fetch stick is great. Did the wraps and booties work in the pool? I am sure that my dog would love the fetch stick. Being a black lab she loves to swim, she goes underwater to retrieve things. Thanks for sharing!
Hey there Paul, the booties were a major fail for his feet. Even with the wraps he would still get them off which is funny because they work perfect on my nephew dog who's much larger without wraps. The stick is a hit though. We still let him swim in the pool but we ended up fending him away from the edges with the leaf net LOL.
Greetings from Eastern Tennessee! Wish I watched before my wm-8h assembly I finished today. I ran into similar experiences so i feel vindicated! You and I made some small choices differently like the kickstand I left the entire bracket external instead of sandwiching. Hopefully a minor difference. Hope you've had good luck since in using it effectively.
Real nice! I have a 94 I bought new and with almost 3k on the meter is still my weekly mower and leaf collector on 3 acres. I have the blade for it but only for light grading now. I've always been meticulous about maintenance and only had one major issue with the plastic timing gear. Pretty much down to wear items and the occasional leak. Mower deck is definitely a challenge to keep up with so many hours. 3rd gear box but still original spindles. The new 700s are ok but I'll stick with the 445 forever!
Diff lock has a safety feature to prevent breaking the tractor. It can only be used while the wheels are straight. If you turn the wheel it will disengage, if you have the wheels turned, it won’t engage.
I agree with using an Irvin vice grip tool on wing nuts. I had to do that a couple times. Thanks and have a fantastic Independence Day. Gave a big thumbs up, a full-watch, and Subscribed. 👍🏽🤠 07/01/24
Hello, I realized this video was 4 years ago but was curious on your opinion on this particular windshield? worth it? loved it? Appreciate your time sir.
Hey it's still going strong, I'm happy with it. I wouldn't be able to stand having a non-glass window, it works, the Ryfab one might be better but I didn't know about the that one when I bought this one. Thanks for watching
if you want that second screw just measure down how far you drilled it and then on the other side dill a whole 2-3 drill bit sizes bigger on the outside, if you are a little off the larger size will still allow you to line up your screwdriver
Yes, I hook my slide anchor dock line to the trailer hook in the middle toon in the front. That way it's not hanging over the edge. Thanks for watching.
