And here we are, 14 years later, and literally nothing happened. All this unwarranted, unnecessary hysteria, all these emotional and psychological gyrations led to jack diddly squat. #rentfree
I wonder how many verses there are to this song. I heard another rendition that has a lot of verses different than these. But are interesting, but quite different.
Listened to this song on TV and when Disneyland opened I was there on the first weekend. Went straight to Frontierland and bought me a Coon Skin Cap so I'd be like Davey!
I can't believe I found this song! It has been in my head for fifty years. I was starting to think I made it up in my head as a child bc nobody else said they had heard of it. My search request was so specific, I thought there was no way.... But here we are. Especially after reading all the comments, I am amazed at how a "simple" tune impacted so many. God is great!
There was another Singing nun in 1960's from Belgium. She was Jeanine Deckers, she sang "Dominique".....we had the record.....Her song is on RU-vid.....
PEOPLE are saying they sang this song in their classes. Now a days we have a problem saying the national anthem. What happened to this beautiful country? We sang it as well. Also when I lived in Alaska me and my friend sang north to Alaska in class. Peaceful times.
Great song 🎵 brings me back to the late 70's. We need to hear this song on the radio now in 2021. God bless everyone ❣🙏✝️🎄Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night ❣🍂🍁🐿🦋🐦🎈🙂😊
I remember hearing this song playing on the radio when I was a little kid back in the 1970s. I still remember the chorus and the string section that has been playing in my brain for over nearly 50 years! Anytime I hear or say the Lord's prayer this song always pops up in my head! I've even asked people my age and older if they remember hearing this on the radio! Nope! I knew I wasn't going crazy…
I've had this tune rolling around in my head since '74. I sing it to myself in times of meditation and prayer. I finally had to search for it and so thankful I did. Love!
The movie it has it wrong(spoilers alert). In the movie it ends with him the sole survivor of the almo assault. It’s Disney and the hero always wins but in real life he fought gallant but he was killed in the battle.
Davy, Davy Crockett, king of the wild frontier In eighteen thirteen the Creeks uprose Addin' redskin arrows to the country's woes Now, Injun fightin' is somethin' he knows So he shoulders his rifle an' off he goes
i heard the song again when at age of 56. I fell in love immediately and started to learn it on my acoustic guitar. Now it is a must song for me in the morning when i worship the Lord Jesus.
