Ollie Gordon's stats were officially updated to 28 carries, 126 net yards, 4.5 yds per carry average, 3 TD's, longest 22 yards. The update is based on a backward lateral from Bowman to Ollie which he ran for TD. (It was originally logged as a Bowman TD pass.)
Talked about OSU, WVU, CU and 14:42 "I wanna end on the Arizona schools" at which point I tapped out. Run your show the way you want but don't expect the other 11 schools' fans to stick around if you won't even give their team a sniff. I would watch a show that did a recap of all the conference games since it isn't always easy to watch every team every week.
🤣 it's so laughable how much hype Cam Rising is getting coming off an injury. Overrated,he'll have the same problems Bowman had last season. I hope Oklahoma State smacks Utah around
KU has learned a ton of lessons. I think they realize now that having a team that goes bowling every year is very unusual. At the same time for whatever reason the majority of ambitious ADs think that's not good enough. They're idiots. Mack Brown had the highest win percentage in Texas history. Over .800.
This smacks a bit of what Yormark is doing on behalf of someone else and their interest but maybe he just sees a value no one else sees. Now the question is whether conference ball will get a boost in NYC viewership with UConn in the fold as the kinda home team. Once we break out the basketball as a separate contract issue this could be huge. I think i favor him gelling a lot of leeway. I want to see where this goes.
Thank you Josh, for your exhaustive and intelligent analysis from the Big XII's perspective. There is nothing of substance that you said that I disagree with. I am concerned about this "deal" from the UConn perspective. This deal would, in fact, be a negative for UConn's athletic program in every sport other than football. Why? Travel plus lack of natural rivals. However, UConn needs to elevate its football program. Therefore, it should be willing to make sacrifices to join the Big XII, IF it helps their football program. From UConn's perspective, if all sports were to join the Big XII in 2026, the aid to the football program would be well worth the pain to every other UConn sports team. You mentioned that the Big XII wants some assurance or guarantee that UConn is serious about football. This makes sense and is a reasonable demand. Having UConn join in football in 2031, after substantial investment without some assistance from the Big XII is unrealistic. Perhaps something from the Big XII like a guaranteed number of football games home and home between the Big XII and UConn between 2026 and 2031, would help UConn to develop rivalries and would speed the process of getting them ready to provide value to the Big XII in football.
Pretty much. If a potential member can't be trusted to invest enough to be competitive in the revenue sports, why add at all? Worst case scenario is that UCONN's basketball and other sports get stuck in the BIG12 ~and~ the football doesn't meet demands for whatever reason as determined by whomever.
Actually, tell us straight facts, not what if or it looks like no b . S. Please ! Just tell us when it happens ! And if not ! Well, you then get ready for a backkash, then ! And it will be your fault for jumping the gun early ! Jamie
I am still on the fence right now. I don't think it is a slam dunk for either side and in general I question why UCONN wants still be involved in big time football. I think a lot of it will depend on the details
As a Wisconsin-Whitewater and Jefferson (Wis.) HS alum, watching Lance Leipold bring KU football out of the wilderness is tremendously rewarding. The guy deserves every success that comes his way.
Add both, but UConn has better media viewership numbers than USF. Really should consider USF, Temple, Memphis, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, & UT-SA … too.
It all depends on money, and enough Big 12 schools okaying UCONN to join the conference. Right now, I don't believe they have the votes, probably No's from the Hate Eight (original Big 12 schools). As an Arizona fan I have no problem with it, but it depends on not diluting the payments from TV contracts. Not having a quality football team is the big elephant in the room.
@susanbrynt After having serious conversations last year about adding UConn, I hope Yormark is bringing it back up because he has a plan. The other school presidents don't want to reduce revenue shares, and UConn would probably need something more than the 6 million revenue share they got last year. Maybe they have a way to make it work. The football team isn't far off. The program started to do well before Big East football collapsed in 2013. UConn prioritized basketball, but the football team is already rebuilding under Jim Mora Jr.
If the Big12 presidents don’t approve this, the NO voters need to face votes of no confidence. Not adding UConn is Stoopid !!! Demonstrated incompetence.
6 national championships in 25 years for men, 11 national championships for women in 30 years. NO ONE else is even close! What is wrong with u, you clown!
Measured by the NCAAT over the past 10 years (9 seasons), the BIG12 is #2 or #3 in men's basketball. Adjusting for realignment: ACC - Appeared in 7 of 9 Final Fours (6 different teams) BE - Appeared in 5 of 9 Final Fours (2 different teams) B12 - Appeared in 4 of 9 Final Fours (4 different teams) Final Four Appearances, 1st Rd Wins, Nattys (per Wiki 2015-2024. 2020 N/A) ACC: 9-5-3 B12: 5-3-2 (Excludes OK; includes Houston) BIGEAST: 6-4-4 SEC: 5-0-0 (Includes OK) B1G: 7-3-0 (Includes Oregon & UCLA)
If UConn can commit to being Big 12 quality (a typical Big 12 6-6 team) that would entail making the coaching hires, player recruiting and overall infrastructural investment akin to UCF, Iowa State TCU and Texas Tech. A UConn that can pull that off is well worth it because that would mean bringing a quality Big 12 product to the Northeast. Perfect to pair with Cincinnati and West Virginia now and Louisville and Pittsburgh down the road.
@F3dB3aR UConn has the coaching staff and facilities in place. Even agreeing to join in the future would help recruiting, which is already rebuilding under Jim Mora Jr. UConn won the Big East conference title twice (with home sellouts) before Big East football folded in 2013. They are not so far from Big XII level. They've been at that level before. UConn might be better than a few of the current members this year (i.e., Houston).
If the super league is coming for football only witch will include all P-4 teams in my opinion. Basketball will be separate with there own media contract. Adding UCONN would give the BIG 12 by far the biggest media deal. Bringing in more money to the conference!!!
@@tarheel7406 there is an ACC/SEC challenge because that is cost effective for ESPN. The own the media rights in full for both where they only own half of the Big 12 and zero from the Big 10 and Big East. I would have thought someone who went to NC could figure that out.
@@dgart7434 ESPN owns 100% of the challenge. The reason is because the ACC is the more valuable basketball brand. It's not a surprise that a BIG12 fan can't or won't so acknowledge.

I might be bias about this but I'd rather have Uconn than Florida State at this point in time that fan base is toxic just like the longhorn fanbase we just got rid of one toxic fan base we don't need another one
I concur. I don’t like what the ACC has done to its members, including FSU & CLEM, but now I think FSU deserves it - let ‘em eat beans. Let them go independent and pay to play FCS schools.
Also, taking UConn off the board as an option for the ACC is a huge kick in thr crotch to them. Also, consider this- if this was 2010 now, would the B1G take Rutgers over UConn? No way. Take Uconn. FWIW I am a K-State fan.
@tarheel7406 It's fairly well documented that BC has been blocking UConn from that ACC since they joined. I'm not sure the Boston TV market has been worth it for the ACC. They should have added UConn instead in the first place. At this point, joining the Big XII or Big 10 would be better TV revenue for UConn (even at a partial share).
@@mikevichas9001 " because of the beef between BC and Jim Calhoun when BC left." More silliness. BC doesn't have the power or influence to block an expansion. Understand reality first,
UConn is also the flagship and only school in a state that has more population than four current XII states (UT, IA, KS, WV) that share six schools. UConn with a consistent bowl-eligible program is a mini-UNC, very valuable, I hope the XII picks them up
What if I told you that they have been investing in those things? And that if they had millions of dollars more via conference revenue, they could invest even more into those things...
@khaledkais6044 They have the facilities and coaching staff. Not sure where NIL is for football, but even agreeing to join in the future would help build more momentum.
Like UMass to the MAC Keep throwing money at football programs that will go absolutely nowhere and ruin what you had in Big East hoops UConn doesn't need the Big 12
@assassssasa Rejoining the Big East was only ever temporary. To sustain their big budget, they need a power conference alignment. Check the TV revenue share difference between the Big East and the power conferences. That's what they need to sustain all sports. UConn football is not the same as UMass football. UConn has been a power conference champion before. They can get back to that level. They'll leverage the basketball programs to do it. UMass doesn't have that asset.
When BB decoupled and sold separately to media partners (with UConn add + NE/NYC market) Big XII will be THE MOST VALUABLE of any conference on that side. FB side more neutral unless it attracts Louisville, Miami, Pitt later. Smart move
Do you mean UConn's football is a lost cause? Because the 16 schools in the Big 12 have all their focus in football with basketball and all other sports.
Not entirely. Look what they did in their short 10 year stint while in a FB power conference. We’re routinely ranked, got as high as #8 BCS rankings, couple of conference champions, and a Fiesta Bowl. That’s pretty impressive when they had power football money. Also a Land grant school with resources will support state U. Uconn could easily return to that success. Worst case neutral on revenue dollars on the football side.
@sunsensational The football team could even start rebuilding that momentum this season. Having 17 basketball championships won't hurt the chances of going to a power conference. Yormark seems to want it to be the Big XII.
UConn football was successful in the Big East power conference (2 championships in 10 years, often sold out stadium with 40K). It also has the huge New York/New England TV market.
@knightu1642 The American was bad for UConn football and was worse for basketball. They had to leave to give basketball a chance to stay relevant. Though UConn football got left hanging, I think even a future alignment and partial revenue share would go a long way. They have a nationally recognizable brand and a fanbase more than ready to support a competitive team.
@@devinup3981that is correct. BYU never went to a BCS or NY6 bowl. They like SMU don’t deserve to be in a Power/Autonomy conference as did not earn it. Houston, UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis, Toledo, UConn, Western Michigan, NIU, Boise State, Liberty, Tulane, and the three schools who first made the move in to a true Autonomy conference in Utah, WVU, and TCU all earned the right to be in an Autonomous conference or Power conference. Even Pitt and Syracuse and wait for it…,,, Boston College have earned the right to be in a true Power conference/Autonomy conference and stay in one but not BYU and not SMU. Between the two remaining PAC schools, actually Washington State has earned it more than Oregon State has ever been worthy to stay in an Autonomous conference. Remember in the BCS era, Bowl Alliance era, and Bowl Coalition era that WazzU has had multiple opportunities if win their Bowl game would at least have a split national championship if not outright. They lost in all four situations I speak of but had the opportunity; whereas OzzU has never been close to sniffing a national championship in football. Both schools have excellent baseball and softball teams and WazzU is a bit better in both hoops teams than OzzU; but OzzU women basketball is a consistent winner and men’s have their moments.
@@knightu1642 Most of the people I know do not want UConn in the Big12. It seems to be mostly you, UCF, fans that want uconn because of that silly rivalry you have going on. No one else cares about the ConnFLict.
😂😂😂josh you look like a shmuck now...EVERYONE knows who broke the story. Locked on uconn and locked on big12 broke the story. Talk about losing credibility in one video😂😂😂😂
