Elton has been almost unequal in his compositions and for so long. For me Harmony is his masterpiece. I don't know how he feels about it versus his other songs, but this song has it all.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road could have been his last album and he’d still be the greatest of all time…. Heck, It could have been his ONLY album and he’d still be the best ever.
I'm 51 years old I played the piano and saying sometimes there are certain days as you get older where you just are feeling it you've seen it with Elton over the years this is one of those days you can hear some of the improv on some of the higher notes. How he phrases the notes. I'm a big fan a lot of times if he takes time off after a tour and he does some appearances if he rests his voice he comes back and we end we ended up talking about Things like this lol. He lost weight when he did his 2010 tentor specifically in Hawaii he could really sound very good high notes without the growl, And again as an older guy who is a little heavy as you adjust your diet and you lose weight your air flow gets better so I've seen that with him throughout the years I know I'm being technical but., I like to be at times.
Just to add on Billy Joel recently lost weight probably because he had to and I can hear a little difference in some of his phrasing and the tone and holding the higher notes good for billy love him hes awesome.
Elton still has it.. He definitely owns his songs. He can't go as high vocally because of the operation he had in 1987-1988 they had remove polyps on his vocal cords to save his voice. He can no longer hit Falsetto notes like he did back in the day, But a huge percentage of musicians as they get older loose that range anyway. Elton had to make some adjustments after the surgery, In my opinion his voice is still one of the best ever and very strong.He still has it.. At almost 70 years old.... Man he can still knock his songs out of the park... He is a musical genius the best the world will ever see... We love you Elton.....💕💖 Not many singers can sing that good without music... 💕💕💖💗 I was reading other post on other videos people were asking what happened to his voice? That's why I posted this,.. Not that he isn’t more than capable of multitasking, but I think not being in front of a piano he is more focused on the vocals…. Or maybe his throat was just cooperating tonight
Except it seems as though aryi artists such as Elton and Clapton come into their skill and talent very young.. You can only be so patient.. Although he's admitted that his voice has dropped since the original, he also said that his skill as a vocalist has improved.. Perhaps performers such as Adele can hold the torch for later generations.. 1:1,000,000 or perhaps even more to find anyone in any field as talented as most performers of the 70's.
