I went to a Nada Surf show at the Shelter in Detroit back in May of 2003. They are genuinely great guys! Before their opener started, Matthew and Daniel both came out and chit chatted with us. It was a great experience! It really made me appreciate them not just more musically but personally. Just watch all of these Nada Surf interviews and videos. You clearly see how cool they are! They're magic! Their music is amazing, they're good peeps. Such a great musical package! 😊🎶💓
this song comes in, does what it needs to do, and then just STOPS BEING A SONG, letting the last remnants of thought become happenstance alone, the memory trying to process itself into your head.. it doesn't screw around with trying to make the song something more than it is, it does the thing, and then it makes you think about it. it makes you soak it in, while at the same time it soaks YOU in. it's a little like soviet russia that way.
