I've shown millions of viewers how to work on their own vehicles through my other channel, 6th Gear Garage. I enjoy working on the house as well, so I created 6th Gear House to share some home improvements, hacks, and tips with you all.
Where can I buy the mica sheet that suitable for my microwave model? Because even the universal size are not smaller than mine. If my model is old, where should I get it? Model Number: DMW104W.
@@6thGearHouse yeah. I thought of jailbreaking it but i decided not to. I left it as it is. Even tho some apps might not work after 3-4 years but atleast i will have a device for basic usage with decent battery.
@@6thGearHouse tbh 4-5years back, I learned a hard lesson after updating my Android devices, they became obsolete because of poor battery and resource hog bloatware.
Don’t update because when i did my ipad started getting buggy and slow, and one thing I personally hate is the homescreen layout. I would give anything to get ios 14 back on my poor ipad
Ha! I'm sure LG would love if you went to the store and spent hundreds of dollars on a new above the range microwave. Sad thing is that new appliances won't last nearly as long as these older ones.
Because it's such a tight space and you probably don't want to remove any more drywall than needed, what about one of those oscillating tools? I've never used one on PVC, but they will cut through wood. Any kind of saw is out because of the lack of room between the pipe and out side wall.
Nice idea but wont work in my apartment its shaped like a hook, its off the kitchen then goes straight out to the dinning room, then takes a left to the living room and goes straight into the bed room then take another left into the bathroom. Wont reach its all a wall between everything
Yeah, I think the only way it would work in that situation would be setting up a box fan by the bucket to force the air through. Even then that's a long way and half of the apartment would be warmer.
"Free heat". You moron you're paying for the electricity, and all that humidity you're putting into your house will lead to mold. Absolutely DO NOT DO THIS!
I'm paying for electricity to dry the clothes, then that heat normally gets dumped outside. Now I'm recycling it, so it's heat that I'm not paying for. In northern Ohio, we want extra moisture. The air is very dry in winter here, so I have to run a humidifier in the house all day/night when the heat is on. Now doing laundry helps that cause as well.
In northern Ohio, we want extra moisture. The air is very dry in winter here, so I have to run a humidifier in the house all day/night when the heat is on. I haven't had the windows sweat yet, but humidity rarely goes over 40% when I have this set up in winter.
I leave the oven door cracked open after taking the food out (and turning it off). The kids tease me but I paid for that heat, why not let it into the house
I do replace the water with fresh water to avoid that. As fot the humidity, we need the extra moisture. The air is very dry in winter here, so I have to run a humidifier in the house all day/night when the heat is on. Now doing laundry helps keep the air from getting too dry.
Any place that has real winter the humidity is a benefit. All of these comments about the humidity being a problem are entirely clueless. You don't use one of these in Florida. duh.
a very humid house + cold windows means your windows will be completely soaked and dripping all the time. or if it gets down to -25 to -40 the ice will freeze into the base of the windows and cause damage. especially if your windows are old. it wrecks shitty windows and wrecks paint and drywall. ask me how i know. that’s a tenant damage deposit i’ll never get back.
The people that are complaining about the moisture must live in a humid environment. Living in dry state, humidity levels can end up around 20-30% through winter. Today was over 60 degrees and all the snow is melting, and my gauge says it’s 38% humidity. I would welcome the heat and moisture here for sure!
i live in the middle of the canadian prairies, it’s also super dry, and had this setup for a while. it’s dry here but the dryer made it so wet in the house that all the windows basically were soaked during the winter. humidity was up in the 70s and i had to buy a dehumidifier. it was literally mold paradise and super bad for my wood frame windows. i promise you definitely don’t want this lol.
@@Hyphessobrycon Well thank you for sharing your experience! Maybe it’s worse than I could’ve imagined. I just know when my knuckles crack and fingers split by the nail, I would welcome any humidity to relieve it. Perhaps to a point then.
In northern Ohio, we want extra moisture. The air is very dry in winter here, so I have to run a humidifier in the house all day/night when the heat is on. Otherwise, everyone has dry skin and we're all shocking the cats. I'm lucky if the humidity in the house reaches 40%.
In this region, we want extra moisture. The air is very dry in winter here, so I have to run a humidifier in the house all day/night when the heat is on. Now doing laundry helps keep the air from getting too dry. I also use wool balls instead of dryer sheets, because they are chemical free: amzn.to/3unoNq1
@@deleqtronica8733 as most people do tend to use them - or similar products, I still think a valid comment. Glad you didn’t take my comment in a negative manner. /s
That is a very good concern. I stopped using dryer sheets long ago because of the chemicals in them. Now I use wool balls instead and there are no chemicals or scents. Here they are if you're interested: amzn.to/3unoNq1
I used a similar device in my new home years ago. Couldn't wait to cut a hole into the sheet rock wall and install a real vent. Sorry but, too much moisture was being released into the laundry room.
I accidentally left the bucket in the laundry room with the door closed once, and it was like a sauna when I entered. It's recommended to use the vent tube to put the bucket outside of the laundry room where it can vent into the rest of the house. The air is very dry in winter here, so I have to run a humidifier in the house all day/night when the heat is on. Now doing laundry helps keep the air from getting too dry.
If there's chemicals that's harmful in your clothes that you're worried about this then your skin is infinitely more at risk. Use less detergent if you're clothes is still soaked with laundry detergent when you dry it.
What he said^.. Use a cleaner detergent if you’re so worried about the chemicals. And wanting/not wanting the moisture would be an opinion. For myself, living in a dry climate, it would be a whole lot better than boiling water to try to get moisture back into the air.
Depends on your climate. In a lot of the northern areas we want moisture being added to the air in the winter. Also running the vent into a bucket of rock salt dries the air if needed. This idea isn't uncommon in some areas during the winter
The air is very dry in winter here, so I have to run a humidifier in the house all day/night when the heat is on. Now doing laundry helps keep the air from getting too dry.
Lol, you're so close to inventing a modern dryer. Yes, Americans run ancient devices for drying and I don't know why. Nearly lost it at "gas dryer", fml
@@digginggopher a dryer that does not vent all the hot, moist air it produces to the outsides, but a closed system. Eg. a condensation dryer, best a heat pump dryer
If you live anywhere with a winter your humidity inside is super low due to the cold. Unless you're running your dryer 24/7 there isn't enough moisture to cause mold.

I lost patience when I had the battery replaced for $29 under warranty and then it needed replaced again 1 year later. Then the charging port got really loose because I was plugging it in constantly to charge it and the cord would only charge at a certain position.
@@ninjanerdstudent6937 no, I've tried my wife's android phones and just prefer the interface of an iphone. I also work on a mac, so it's nice to have everything sync.
I ruined our oil rubbed bronze faucet by accidentally scrubbing it. The finish came off. I’m wondering if I could cover the spots of brass showing through with your technique?
My iphone is no longer supported in 2023, it's stuck of iOS 16 and i've noticed a few of my apps are slower than usual and not working as they should, i have an Iphone X but i'd rather have an Iphone 5 or 6
By the way i would rather have an iphone 5 or 6 because they seem better, the iphone X has broken 3 times in less than a year and the iphone 5 seems much more durable
You could just use the velcro command strips to hang the wooden straight edge, install the letters one by one (with the bottom side of the letters touching the wood), then just remove the wooden straight edge..
Im on this dilemma lol, im on my iphone xs max currently still running on ios 15.4.1 (i got this as a used phone) there's ios 17 but i think i dont need those other feature that will just lag the phone up but there is an option to go 16.6.1. Im tempted, should I? I dont plan on selling the phone for the value of it still on lower ios versions.
The only reason I really ever had to upgrade was to download an app I needed, as many are not supported on older iOS versions. Aside from that I say "If it ain't broken, don't fix it!"
Caulk, caulk, caulk for a seamless look, also at base of cabinet all around. I would have painted it a different color; I am not sure what color your walls are, but greens work very well in kitchens, like a pale olive green. Different knobs would have taken it up a notch. We are going to be painting our kitchen cabinets Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore after the weather cools off in FL and we got beautiful square Craftsman style knobs to upgrade from the plain round brushed nickel knobs. I feel that hand-done washes on walls or cabinets look very handmade and not classy. And a note to everyone: GRAY of any kind is now OUT. It has been wayyyy overdone for at least ten years. It is depressing and clinical in feel. STOP USING IT!! Go with brown tones like taupe or beige or cream. Lots of recently built homes still have gray walls or cabinets and it is SO annoying to go into an otherwise lovely home and see all that gray. First thing we'd have to do is paint the entire interior of the house. And those rectangular tile floors in streaky dark brown-gray that are supposed to look like wood are super UGLY! Use actual wood that looks like wood or tile that looks like tile. Be true to your materials.
I didn't caulk because my wife wanted the old farmhouse look. Once this gets old and she's bored w/ it, I'll be refinishing it again. Sorry you don't like the brown laminate wood floor, it's what we could afford after buying the house. I agree real wood is nice, but expensive. I think the floors look good enough. We painted the walls grey in 2017 when we moved in, but aren't trendy enough (and don't have the time) to repaint the house every few years as styles change. Notice how the rest of the cabinets in the kitchen are still light oak from 20 years ago... They'll probably stay that way until we win the lottery and buy new cabinets ;)
@@6thGearHouse Yeah, our interior was painted pale yellow about 7 years ago and we are not repainting either. Not for a good while. I was just saying that gray is out for those who might be thinking about painting something gray in the house. Instead, colors based on brown are coming back like beige, taupe, etc. Your island sure got a facelift. Good for you!
The battery life went downhill. Apple acknowledged the battery issue after updating and offered a battery replacement for only $29, which I did in late 2018. That battery was good for a while, but after a year, I was having to charge the phone multiple times throughout the day, especially in colder weather. Finally the charging port was worn out from plugging the phone in so many times to charge it, and the plug was too loose and the phone wouldn't charge. I gave up and bought a 14 pro at the start of 2023. I did replace the port and battery on my 6s after I activated the 14, and the 6s is a great backup camera/music player now.
