Lol literally just did the same swap. Had my Blue Yeti for 10 years and it's had enough spit abuse. haha Looking forward to the k688 which arrives tomorrow. (Through XLR)
@@PaulaMads That's good to hear! The yeti has been a staple for many years and it's been the go to mic but my rooms are never treated with sound proofing. I needed a dynamic one for sure. Any regrets with the K688?
Hi Paula, I bought a new Canon EOS r8, while taking a video I would like to display my camera screen on my computer like a monitor so what cable should I use or is there another way to do that without wireless. I mean without the cable is a better option for me:) Thanks a lot
How come on my camera when I look at the movie record time, it's about half of what I see on the screen here? For example, FHD 23.98P Total rec time is 01:41:29 but on the screen here, yours says 08:39:52.
Just wanted to throw out there for any military veterans if you have a Samsung account you can actually get this monitor with your military discount right now for $800 a massive discount and well worth it
I do like OLED monitors but for me personally they are too dark. And when you do brighten them they lose some of that amazing clarity and vibrancy from the colors. I think I'm going to give it another year or two until they can come up with some brighter OLED monitors that still retain that true 4K vibrant feel
If samsung didn't spend the entire development time and budget on there operating system and niche smart TV capabilities it would be available already .
Hi Paula, I got the k688 fifine mic last weekend for my streams and RU-vid. When I record it sounds a bit muffled, can I ask what you record your audio with?
I got mine today and so far so good. I'm replacing two sets of ps5 elite headphones that both lasted two months before snapping the frame just above the ears.
The first clip from the Canon looks like pink skin. That could partly be later in the day sunlight. But good skin tones is more a matter of taste than people realize.
That’s true. It’s a combination of both. I wasn’t very happy with how the end clips because of the time of day and the lighting in that room especially after seeing how balanced the a7siii clips were but I don’t think it’s the camera it was definitely us with not the best settings on the R5 not doing it justice. We’re learning though 🙂
Awesome. Happy to hear it! Still have a lot to learn on it, we’ve only tested it a couple times but I can already see the slight bump in quality from the R6.
Great video, Thank you 🙏 for sharing. I purchased the Canon R8 4 months ago, and I'm absolutely in love with it! This camera has never given me any reason to complain, and I'm so happy with this baby that I even sleep with it every night.....Lol 😂🤣😂
Hey man I got a question, are you able to see any visible texture on solid colours on this monitor? I got mine a month ago and comparing it to my AW32QF, it's extremely grainy on solid colours, think a cloudy sky in games/media. I've asked a lot of people regarding it and apparently, no one can see it? I don't know if they're coping or my unit is straight up defective(not sure how a coating can be defective tbh).
Hello! I do not see any texture on any colors on mine. You should definitely RMA yours since it could be a manufacturing defect, or simply because you are not satisfied with the monitor.
Great Video! Enjoy the review of S5II. I shoot S5 and S5IIX. I'm looking into getting the S9 and S1HII when it comes out. I will have my line cameras complete! I subscribed to your channel too!
Thank you!! I honestly would love the S9, I love the way the body looks and from what I’ve seen the footage is so good. Can’t wait to hear more about the S1HII!
@@PaulaMads it looks great. i like its low key look. Its clean and looks like a prop in a sci-fi movie. but i was disappointed that the base had to be bolted together and hope its not an issue
Do you think the Samsung G80SD is worth the upgrade? Check out Brian's full review of the G80SD here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NrouvsPizrM.html
Got me a S5ii last week and took it out in my city for a test, using the kit 20-60mm lens. Had e stabilisation off, and boost on for static video shots. Alas the wobble was really bad at 20mm. I think I'm going to have to suck it and put up with the crop with e stabilisation. What I don't like is that when the camera is in photo mode, I don't get a preview of the crop until I hit that video record button.
@@BeautifulNorfolk I haven’t tried photo mode yet but that is a good note to look out for. But yes at 20mm unless I’m using a gimbal, the wobble was definitely noticeable.
I agree with her though it does feel underrated . You don't see nearly enough about it on here . Trying to research it I came across the same channels speaking on it . Not much about photos more so on video . I picked one up and it's a great camera . I think it needs a lot more love and a lot more broad coverage . Especially with how long it's been out. I got the S5iix btw not the S5ii
Boost stabilization is for emulating tripod shots, so not recommended for walking with the camera. And once you update the camera to the latest 3.00 firmware, the AF is so much better. You also get newer and better stabilization modes. E stabilization on the standard setting only has a 10% but gets rid of the "wobble" down to 16mm or so. The E stabilization high is for basically running with the camera and thus has a huge 40% crop. So definitely stick with the standard setting. BTW, the wobble is a normal phenomenon on cameras with very strong stabilization due to perspective distortion with wide lenses. So it needs to be corrected after image capture, with the gyroscopic data.
Thank you so much, this makes a lot more sense now. I didn’t understand why you would turn on both boost and e-stabilization. I’m happy we had the default e-stabilization turned on for our use case.
@@PaulaMads yeah, you might want to update the camera to the most recent firmware (3.00). The E stabilization before the update was not really useful, but now it removes the wobble completely and basically makes it look like it was shot on a gimbal. And the AF also became much better.
The 15-35mm, f2.8 constant is a great vlog lens. The best lens is the 24-70mm, f2.8. In short, the lens costs more than the camera itself. Basically, the cost of the camera and the Canon L zoom lens is the same cost as buying two R6 II cameras and then some and then one has to pay the sales tax on top of that. Sales taxes are bullshit.
From Orange County to Malibu is a long way. And no public transportation service. Los Angeles has the shittiest public transportation system in the whole world. Even Uganda, Africa has better public transportation than that of Los Angeles. Everybody drives in Los Angeles. WTF.
i had pretty bad issues with every razer headset that i ever had, altough the mic might be better for the razer headsets the interruptions i've had and disconnecting of the headsets made me change my mind on Razer headsets quite a bit, thank you for making this video Paula,it has been very helpful ,and i can finally say i'm gonna buy the same headset you own ,appreciate the pro's and con's the most !
Thanks! I use El Gato keylights to fill corners in the room and I have Hue bulbs to change the colors. I will be working on a lighting setup video soon! GT chair is great for the value, it’s my main chair I use right now
