1982. This one was repeated on PBS in 1998. This show was the penultimate episode of the series and I believe was the final appearance of Bob Ballard and Curt Ramsey.

There is no part 2 -- as you can see, the tape ran out. I guess I posted a little over a hundred programs that were complete. I find it interesting that Art Duncan’s tap routine (to “Jingle Jangle Jingle”) was edited out. Was that how it actually aired? (All subsequent PBS showings of the episode have it included.)
@RobertGundlachMusic
@RobertGundlachMusic Месяц назад
I had to look up one of the PBS programs -- and I see exactly what you mean. The only thing that comes to my mind is that -- as you can see - the original VHS tape had run out -- with about 7 minutes to go. I did not edit the recording. My only thought is that Arthur Duncan was actually in the last portion of the program that was missing. I have seen the order altered in some of the PBS shows -- I think. Rob

I read an article about how this episode all those came close to not being made. The ABC Network wanted guest Willa Dorsey to sing secular songs instead of the gospel and patriotic song she wanted to sing. Lawrence Welk told he network executives.that either Willa would sing her songs or she wouldn’t do the show. Long story short, the maestro himself won that argument and Willa sang her songs, and one of the best Lawrence Welk shows ever was made.
