I agree with others in that the Giant Beat sounds particularly delicious here. However, I think this recording (or maybe this example) does not do justice to the 20" Big Beat, especially in what I heard from the bell. I own one, and it is absolutely one of the best cymbals I own. I could play it for hours. It's like a darker 2002, but thinner, with a smoother and sweeter-sounding bell.
Goes to show that the weight of the cymbal matters when choosing one; although they are in the same ball park of sound (bingo the same size and all), the weight contributes in the specific tone and flavor of said cymbal. I personally prefer the second one coming from left to right. Also, if possible, I would love for you guys comparing drumhead brands (EVANS, REMO, AQUARIAN), but this time with the toms!!! Its been very difficult finding videos comparing them, not only withing their respective brands, but against each other as well. It could be perfect to finish off the series you guys have: comparing snare heads, bass drum heads, and now, tom heads! I would really appreciate if you guys did that and would help not only me, but others that also desire (like me) to hear those drum heads series and companies face off and compare their drumheads on toms. Watching with eyes closed, I couldn't even tell you which drum was which, let alone which hoops were which. Double-blind random testing is very different than RU-vid videos. I'll stick to durability, ease of tuning, weight, and affordability, then modify my touch to get the sound I want. Obviously if something is beautiful to look at, it affects how you play, but it's not an excuse to buy new gear if you can't justify it via blind testing.
Absolute killer snare drum sound. Makes me hate myself for selling the one i had years ago ..boohoo 😢 it was the best wood snare drum i ever owned. Seriously 😊
