Dig It - I truly appreciate what you've shown me in this lesson. The voicings you've highlighted are right-on with my ear and you clearly and cleanly convey a brilliant enthusiasm for Shorter's work. Very nice.
I was looking for some “ideas” for this tune, and feel you really interpreted it just right … more ethereal… pedal tones… I like your thinking here - nice job👏😁.
Hi Rod! How are you doing? May I please tell you how much I enjoyed your hints about this splendid tune. As it goes, the rare beauty of music is somehow embedded in its imperfection, as being human and yet mysterious... profound. The depth lies in the sound, the mystery in the silence within the vast spaces of Lucy Park in Wichita Falls in North Texas! You take care of your good-self. Last but not least I am already a fan of yours from Venice, Italy. Giorgio P.S. You introduced yourself the same way Robert Glasper does. What’s up beyond? 😁 I am not sure I got it right though… Best wishes and keep up the good work! Bravo 👏 👏👏
You got that down Rod. It's fast at half of the speed...mind blowing fast. Even more mind blowing is that WM developed it on the fly in the moment- AND- as fast as it is, thumbed all of it.
Thanks for posting this. There is another version of “So What on his Sunday Morning album that I really like. This one has a completely different feel though. Thanks for turning me on to this, I’ll definitely check this album out. E
I'm looking around to find out how to play After Hours the way Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass (?) did it. Where would I go to do that? your version of this song is lovely
It’s funny how Lil So and So can express negativity and self-destruction and get millions of views, but some dude showing what hard work and discipline produce gets 1300 in two years. Good lesson, thanks for sharing!
