Pastor Mensa Otabil, l want to thank you most sincerely for dealing with this topic from a very sound principle basis. I have listened to the responses of many pastors especially from Nigeria to this issue, unfortunately l wasn't that convinced about their defence of collection of tithes and several offerings within a given service. But your own response is both from knowledge and spiritual perspectives, and l feel so guilty at the moment that l have not paid my tithe and offering for a while now. Your teaching is anointed by the Holy Spirit. Thanks a lot sir. More anointing in Jesus name.
Thank God for the few faithful churches in Nairobi where the above is practiced like: Trinity Baptist Donholm, Emmanuel Baptist Ngong Road, Grace Reformed Baptist Ruiru, Redeemer Church Karen, Northpoint Baptist Kiambu Road, Upendo Gospel Community Church Kikuyu etc. To God be the glory!
Yes! We need Kenyan preachers to do expository preaching and faithfully make God's truth known. That they would not withold anything that would be profitable for the strengthening of the saints in their sanctification and the saving of sinners in their unbelief. The "prosperity" gospel must perish for the church to prosper. "Storytelling" must diminish in sermons for the story of Jesus to be prominent. The word of God must be the centrepiece of the church service and everything else should revolve around it and be governed by it (from singing to prayer to giving etc). May the Lord help us.
My optional book is the bible. Forgive me but i never buy publicised books by preachers....may be someday i will buy other publications after i exhaust reading my bible
I m reminded of the years you man of God used to come to our nation Zimbabwe. Surely it's raining again. Thank God for technology. We can hear your voice again. I m under your friend Prophet Andrew Wutawunashe. We love you man of God and we miss you Peace to you.
What is wrong Otabil again ??any preachers are trying to out do other by trying to pretend they don't need money for ministry..extravagant give has made the Church reach this far.. I don't understand what man otabil is talking about.
