WOW!!! 4 years??!!! Oh no!!! Now that i am getting older, my swap is going to have a/c quick!!! Lol. Well as i can lol. Ls3/6L80E in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. Its a project with my grandkids.
@@GrandPitoVic Lol! I know, but every year I was going to install it. Like you said I'm getting older and it's getting hotter outside. I refused to go another year without AC. That LS Swap in the crown Vic sounds interesting 🤔. I gotta check out your progress
@johnnylane5844 A/c is definitely a must lol. When I was youngermi didn't care lol. I pulled out mynold gas Rc cars while I wait.in parts to come. Teaching them that as well. They have fun. That's where its at lol. Thank you sir.
Yes I had to cut almost all of the housing off. The only thing left was the trim and the rim. Lol. I think it's the lights. I have had some that I had to do no trimming at all. The trim would not touch the housing, but tighten the screws up and the fit like a glove.
Lsbrackets.com. I got the kit with only the bracket and had to buy compressor, belt and tensioner separately. Check prices, because you might get the kit with everything in it cheaper than buying everything separately.
How dose it run, I run that same compressor but my truck really feels that compressor it bogs out on me have when I turn on the compressor like it kills the engine the tunner. Had to leave it at high idle
@@paulorozco6969 It runs fine. On some of the LS Swap harnesses there is an ac wire. I have not used it, but I think it makes it idle up when you turn your AC on. Yes it is a little bit of a power robber, but I will sacrifice it for the cold AC 🥶
I called and spoke to their rep with my installer. He made it sound like it was basically plug & play. I had ordered 1 with an additional part that I don't remember exactly what it was. When I received it and my installer got the up close and personal look at it I think he got intimidated. I ended up returning it. I still want 1 in my 87 GN and just recently I picked up a 96 Impala SS and it would be nice to install 1 in there also. Maybe 1 day. Good luck with that and the car💯%
It's only plug and play for the sensors that come with it. Everything else will require you to have a good gauge cluster wiring diagram for the car. They probably sent the boost sensor for the turbo, and the bim module to connect it to the gauge cluster. You should definitely try it again. It will be a great addition to either one of those classics.
Yes! It's actually an easier install on a small block Chevy. All of the sending units come with it. Just find a good wiring diagram for your truck, to know what wires are for what function
@@Bobthebuilder.69 If it is still in the original vehicle, make sure to leave all grounds connected, the original ecm will need to be powered, meaning make sure the fuse is not blown for the ecm. You will then need a throttle position sensor for a carburetor. The tbi tps plug should plug directly into it. You will have to adjust it properly by driving it and adjusting to get your shift points correct.
@@johnnylane5844it's the original engine. my engine guy wants me to put a set of Vortec heads and a carb on my truck, he has a set of heads and Vortec 4bbl intake. I know about the fuel pressure regulator I have to install
@@johnnylane5844 yes its running pretty good I decided to not ls swap it keeping it oldsmobile if you can hook a car radio up you can install a efi system 👍🏾
@@tankhorton70 Just type in for example DBC or Dbw LS swap wiring harness, and make sure it has the plug for the 4L60e or 4L80e. Whichever transmission that you need. They sell out so fast you just have to search for the one you need, and the better price.
What is the pie configuration; true duals, X pipe, or H pipe? Sounds great, nice rumble but not too loud. I'm looking for a similar sound for my 327 1965 Impala SS.
I'm not sure. I haven't put it on a dyno yet. I'm thinking about high 300's maybe better. It performs really good. My gears are very high, and I will soon go with a Lower gear, and that will definitely put the power to the ground.
@@johnnylane5844 Mine had that same one, I put 3:23 positive traction in it, I’m still running a built TH350, and that’s as low as I’d go personally without over drive.
I can't remember exactly on the driveshaft. I had to use the yoke for the 6L90E trans and driveshaft and had the part that connects to the rear end for the El Camino mated together. I cut the trans tunnel across, and then cut on both sides up to the front and lifted it up. Then the back half of the tunnel had to come completely out for the driveshaft to fit. He then had new floor pans and the trans tunnel fabricated.
Nothing. With this cam you can use the same springs. I did use a 2400 stall converter. It will operate with as low as an 1800, but I wanted the performance.
