I am a full time blacksmith who absolutely loves making things. My wife and I recently drove to Alaska in a converted minivan van.

My son-in-laws grandfather who's in his mid 80s could just pick that thing up and carry it like nothing, lol. And he's a little guy, but he set world records for dead lifting. It's crazy...
Dropping it down to lift it back up? How about making sure there is a clear path and backing the truck up further and just transferring it over. Or maybe dropping it on a cart that is wider and taller if you have one. I hope he has a hoist. With that said he is getting the job done, just try to work smarter and not harder when possible. Seems like a tough guy
