I just wanna say, Your music taste is perfect, Tool, Radiohead, Muse, Coldplay. all my favorites. If you ever get the chance and you havent already, try out King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
If you wanna hear more King Crimson, I reccomend you try something from the Discipline album, maybe Elephant Talk or Discipline. It's totally different from Starless, but also completely ahead of it's time. If you think Tool took notes from this song, you need to listen to that album
Drawing the parallels between the 1920’s and the 2020’s current political circus that is Trump/ MAGA and their racist misogyny is fuckin brilliant! Brava 👏🏼
Totally agree w/yr feelings on how incredible it is that these 4 individuales found each other n blessed us w/their music! Too incredible! The universe wanted this eye opening band to be heard. I doubt there will ever be another like TOOL
I appreciate you really digging into this album and your first reaction to it. I got this album as a kid when it came out and I thought it was just a bunch of really cool, unique sounds and I've been hooked to Radiohead ever since. But there's a lot of stuff I never really thought about some of the topics being explored here. Thanks for your channel
I ain't never seen a reaction this authentic. You let yourself feel this album brother...and I"m deeply humbled by that! Thanks for sharing this incredible and your vulnerability around it.
for me, its someone who gave everything to someone that was toxic until one day you went as toxic as that person, "thats not me" and in the end it was not enough.
This is a beautiful explanation of this beautiful song. The kind of song that blast you into space and so far away you start to see you are part of everything. Then you cry a bunch. Great breakdown. Cheers!
Did you watch that Netflix show too? Lol Can’t think of the name but he’s floating in space, directly into the cosmic force, risking it all, and a beautiful cover of this song is playing, he has no idea if he’s gonna make it, what he’s flying into, he’s in the depth of space and this “alien”, it’s not an alien, it’s like God almost, I dunno. Anyways Your comment made me think of the show, figured you must’ve seen it. If not, than omg, you should, great show, but the ending alone is so friggin gut wrenching in this way that isn’t clear cut, and they have this song, the cover, playing, with the main character flying through space all alone
Nigel Godrich, Radioheads producer (and producer for In Rainbows) produced these live sessions. So he knew exactly how to record them live just as they sounded on the record.
Motion Picture Soundtrack is one of my favourites, the version on Kid A is so ethereally beautiful but I also love the early versions from 1995 (on guitar) or 1997 (piano), which have such a different tone, almost more melancholic and emotionally raw: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bmgXsAchYow.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wa_ywAXiKwI.html
Rad reaction bro this song rulz, 🏝 my boy Jamie Cook just passed away here in New Zealand and this song was the last song at his funeral ❤ it was accompanied by a montarge of his life with us sk8 Rats as kids then his family as a man, Every time for evermore will this song pull on the heartstrings and bring tears of joy remembering my mate and the times we all stared with him. Rest well my friend ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've always loved those screeches he got on this recording. I read an interview back in the nineties where he described his pickups basically as crap. Everytime he'd stop they let out that sound. So he decided to use it as part of the song and just go with it. And if just sounds so iconic on that album. I believe that same first the "Siamese Dream" guitar was later stolen. Also a story on that it has since been found and it was returned to him.
I feel like radiohead is both lyrics and music. For me, both are important to experience them fully. But I can absolutely appreciate another point of view and approach!!!
