Where does the mold go after it’s blasted?

The extreme cold of the dry ice (-110 degrees Fahrenheit) freezes and kills the mold on contract. As the dead spores are loosened from the treated surface, they are moved through airflow created by a HEPA air scrubber where the spores and other microparticles are captured by a HEPA filter. Once the blasting is complete the HEPA filter is removed from the site, taking with it the dead spores. Dry ice blasting is the only mold remediation method that does not require the use of chemical fungicide. Other methods including HEPA vacuum scrubbing and soda blasting (both of which we also offer) first need a chemical fungicide to kill the mold before the vacuuming or soda blasting. Hope this helps but please reply with any further questions or comments and we'll be glad to assist. If you think you may have mold needing remediation and live in the Triangle area, please call (919) 986-8808 to schedule a free inspection and estimate. Have a great day!
