Voted as a top-10 guitar finalist by guitar legend Steve Vai in the 2001 Steve Vai Guitar Challenge, and Billboard charts’ #4 hit session guitarist, Neil Rambaldi has made quite a name for himself as both a solo recording artist in the styles of blues, rock fusion, blues rock, and instrumental / progressive rock, and as a session and touring guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, and producer in many other styles spanning pop, Americana, soul, classical, Latin jazz, and more. Working mainly out of both the New York area and L.A., Neil is also formerly the guitarist for Lilian Garcia (Universal), and has collaborated with many "greats" including Kenny Simmons of The Commodores (Motown), Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme (A&M), Stu Hamm (credits: Satriani, Vai), and more.
•“One of my favorite albums of the year. ...Terrific guitarist.” -Don Campau, KKUP 91.5 FM (Cupertino, CA, USA)
•“Jaw-dropping...musical virtuosity." -Pete Pardo, Sea Of Tranquility (USA)
The first clip I saw from U cut off right as U were going to take off. This U got up into the ass of that guitar lol nice great tone too especially for a live setting.
Thank you. I upload various clips for various promo playlists of mine for different venue booking purposes. Here is a different clip from the same song: ru-vid.comlCTS67rp6mk Thanks for watching.
@@brianlittle9202 Haha...and thanks! Those were 60's style single coil stock pickups in a 2014 Mexican Fender 60s player, but since then I swapped those out with the Seymour Duncan Texas hot single coils.
@@neilrambaldi I play two Mexican Strats too I use Duncan hot rails in the bridge and eventually will in the neck position. But the Mexican Strats are actually great to me. But as the say tone is all in the hands. But the hand sure sounds better though some Duncans. You're a great player looking forward to hearing more my friend.
@@brianlittle9202 Very nice! And thank you very much, my friend! All the best, Neil (Please feel free to add/listen to my latest album and follow me on BandsInTown for tour dates, etc. here: linktr.ee/NeilRambaldi ...Much appreciated!)
@@dallaswright9249 Thank you very much! I do have a live band, but I can't take them everywhere I go, logistically. Here is a video of my live band, and I'll be posting more in the future: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hjB83C_IN1o.htmlsi=Dc_qrfSqHMENdIwk. Peace
Question: Would you recommend applying a coat of Tru-Oil after buffing down? I ask as I would assume that would help protect the maple but still retain a smooth (non-sticky) feel?
Hi, and thanks for your comment. To my knowledge, Tru-Oil is only for putting on unfinished wood. What I am doing here is leaving the finish to still be present, but with no more gloss for a smoother feel than if there was a gloss. Tru-Oil could be a good alternative, but the wood would have to be unfinished to my knowledge, before applying. I would recommend researching further before you decide. Good luck!
@@ftratsobudaj3126 Well that means a lot! Glad you dig my sound! If interested, please subscribe here, and also listen to my last record which is a combination of blues rock, hard rock, and fusion: linktr.ee/NeilRambaldi Thanks!

As a long time woodworker and someone working more with instruments all the time, I have switched from steel wool to Scotch Brite abrasive pads to avoid the steel particles left over. Steel wool does a great job for many applications but the abrasive pads work just as well and comes in several grits. For something like taking the sheen down on a fretboard, it cuts the finish just as well as steel wool and gets into all the tight spaces steel wool does without leaving behind particles. Start with the red pad.
Thank you very much! Are you guys in/near Cincinnati? I'll keep that in mind for a future tour. Glad you liked it. You can find that whole album at this link: linktr.ee/NeilRambaldi Much appreciated! And you can get automatic updates if I play a show near your ZIP code if you go to my Bands in Town page at that link.
Thank you very much! This is me creating a loop live on stage on a solo tour, but yes, I have my local trio for live shows in the New York area and LA area. When it is financially feasible, I hope to bring one of those live bands to the Midwest. I play all the instruments on my records. Please find me and follow me on Bandsintown, because you would automatically get notified if I ever play a show near you. And please subscribe here on RU-vid if you'd like. Thanks again. Cheers, N.R.
No it does not, because there is still a finish there. On the other hand, if there was no finish, some but very few might hear a slight difference, but most people don't even notice that.
