He comes some close to being good while never actually getting there. His songs just have no bite. The journey has no climax. All the parts are there, but it's just too smooth, like the smooth jazz of electronica.
Used to love moby. Until a concert meet & greet in 1999 when my girlfriend (at the time) met him and i watched him kiss her. Full open mouth! Dude was not gay, as i had thought! Fuck moby!
HE WROTE AND SANG ALL SONGS BY HIMSELF IN HOUSE ALL INSTRUMENTS PARTS AND THEN MIXED THEM TO HIS LIKENING SOLO AMAZING HEY JOE JOSEPH RIGHT ON SPOT ENJOY PEACE LOVE HAPPINESS PURPLE
I was working on a Y2K project when this came out. I bought this a week or two after it was released and brought it to the pub I hung out at to destress. We played the shit out of this CD well before anyone really got into it! Underworld dubnobasswithmyheadman was another thing we played!!!
2005 baby here. this was one of my mom's favourite albums, and she played it a lot around 2007-2009. this album, along with fatboy slim's better living through chemistry and white stripes' de stijl, made me who i am today and i'm proud to say that i'm still loving all three of those records today.
I looked up this music because I was on r/nice guys and found a post of him being a super creep to Natalie Portman debatably Americas sweetheart and I fell down the rabbit whole long story short this guy named moby was 33 and she was 18 and he thought that they where dating because she was a fan and acknowledged his existence. Not once did they make out or have a sexual romance of any kind and every photo she is in with him she’s got the blink twice I need saving eyes. She has even said this didn’t happen more so “I have never EVER felt that way towards him in fact he made me uncomfortable”. Ppl this is a 💯 a nice guy/creep move and is a life lesson have some self awareness just because you think or feel a certain way doesn’t mean everybody else around you is viewing it or feeling it the same way you are everyone’s perspective is different. Also his music is what a r/nice guys would sound like in music form idk how that’s even possible but yeah it screams I’m a loser and a pussy for some reason to me 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Idk why did you feel that you needed to respond maybe what I wrote hit a little to close to home for you 😐🤷♀️ its not a rant just stating the truth also his music suuuuuuuuuuucks lol 😂 loser creeps deserve to be called out for being loser creeps duh 🙄
yeah, he might be a creep or a jerk, but there's no reason to diss his music. it's incredibly touching and euphoric for so many people. i try to distance the art from the artist because moby is a top artist for me.
Sorry but this is certainly not very good. Just repetitive crap over and over. Shit designed for low IQs who need the same 2 seconds repeated over and over a few hundred times. Right up there with water torture. This shit was just stolen from other musicians. Nothing innovative or creative. This asshole is a hack and his fans have very LOW standards. FUCK this is horrific shit.
Masterpiece. Such mature fusion of soul and texture. Wakes you up with a hook and then puts you to bed with one of the most tranquil sendoffs in all modern music. Flaccid dick touch to you, Moby, you earned it.
He's hard on himself though, always saying how old and bald and skinny etc he is. He's very interesting but makes me sad when he trashes himself. A lot of Porcelain was heartbreaking
I thought this record was bloody brilliant. I thought it was a great synthesis of the old with the what then was the new. Just because it may sound "'90's" doesn't diminish it's value. Great music stands the test of time, IMHO......this is pretty damn good.
Keep seeing a ton of ‘my parents raised me on this’ type of comments. Could not agree more. Most nostalgic album for me. Makes me remember my childhood more than anything. This coming from a ‘97 baby lmao
I played this for my daughters when it came out. We even went to Teanys in soho. Mobys vegan place in the 90s. Not there for a long time but we went and we WERE THERE!
I went there with my sister when she lived in the city! We were hoping to run into Moby, but no luck. I remember I had a grilled pb&j with bananas that was pretty tasty
This album brings me back to those crazy, broke days in our Hollywood neighborhood and all the jobs we achieved thereafter... Never, ever underestimate the amazing artists
