20$ is way to expansive for this. And it works much better when you pull instead of pushing. Pulling is much easier to control a speed of cutting, which is really important for quality of a cut
Would this work with a 12 inch clutch? I bought a brand new 12 inch centerforce for my NV4500 mated to my 350sbc but now I am going to be swapping in a 5.3 and would hate to have to buy a new clutch since the centerforce was over $600. Thank you in advance, God bless.
Sweet build, remove a couple leaves and throw a torque arm on it to control wrap. I’m a vortec 7.4 fan but nothing wrong with the ls for this application 👍
@@DeRosaDriven they are dump truck motors in the stock form, tons of torque at low rpm but not much top end. With the Holley sniper system you can ditch the stock intake for a dual plane and run a zz502 cam then you have a bullet proof beast for cheap
I would have put a LBZ Duramax or a 6BT Cummins in that thing. Or if I was going to go with gas, I would have rebuilt the 454 into a 496 stroker. I don’t know why you’d want an LS in a dually.
I had a 6bt for it, just ended up selling it I have way to many projects so I wanted to keep this one simple. The 5.3 bolted right in and didn’t need much to get running. That 5.3 is still more power that the 350 that came in it, so far she runs good I just need to ditch those rear leafs and 19.5s
@daviddroescher I don't understand the questions but the frame should be the same just look at the spring length I thank 30 chevy or gmc should be 56 my k20 is 56
@@TonyJHughes-sf6zx gm used C to designate 2wd K for 4x4 , C or K30/35 c&c for cab and chassis 0 for chevy 5 for gmc. Blazer/Jimmy was the oddball. v designation for what ? C&C has a thicker c channel frame. ¾ and 1ton used 2 different lengths of rear springs. My k20 had the shorter springs.
@DeRosaDriven wow they sold me 2 starters for my 5.3 ls both didn't work and had grinding bad so went with a mining torque starter still have to shim it an inch back to clear my 168 tooth flywheel
Because we’re going from a cheap eBay turbo, to this Vs racing turbo. For the moment the truck is running a 2.5in intercooler. Everything will be bumped up to 3in
Great idea. If you are trying to fix something and you don't live near anything, or parts places are closed, or a world wide part shortage, ingenuity is how you get it done. I work on old obsolete parts almost daily, no parts store for me most of the time.
