Love sparks. Feel sad recently that they're old though 75 and 78 and won't be able to go on as a band for much longer. Wish I could -20 years from their ages. If they would want that obv. Maybe people are more contented in getting old than I am about them getting old lol. Hopefully.
The Japanese do love their bonus tracks don't they? This should have made the album though. They had 'Check out time 11am' from Hippo a few years ago which in my opinion was the best track on Hippo that never was. Until it was later released at a rather high price I thought. I guess it's like in the 70s when we were treated to such brilliant b-sides but it's only available in Japan which is a pain. At least we have RU-vid but maybe we need to start a petition....lol...
This would make a killer b-side to a “Nothing Is As Good As They Say It Is” 7”. Wish they’d put out some 45’s from ‘Latte’! Last 7” I bought from them was “your Fandango” with Todd.
Hmm I like Veronica lake. Not sure flow wise but I think that love story / love song could have gone this is better. Rubbish song for me that one can't even remember the title.
I tried to write down the lyrics, but I'm not completely sure if they're correct. There's also a piece missing. So if anyone can add/correct something, please tell me. Edit: I added the missing line. Thank you to @donnashimshi4093 This is not the world I signed up for It's not the world I signed up for It's not the world, it's not, it's not These are not the times I signed up for It's not the times I signed up for It's not the times, they're not, they're not, they're not Where are all my holidays Bright'n sunny summer holidays All my friends are on the summer sand As we stroll among them, holding hands And the wild, wild party nights Where we dance until the morning light Though deciding what you're gonna wear Can be such a heavy cross to bear This is not the life I signed up for It's not the life I signed up for It's not the life, it's not, it's not No one could foresee That this is how it all would be But still I have a guaranty right here, right here, right here Where are all my holidays Bright'n sunny summer holidays All my friends are on the summer sand As we stroll among them, holding hands And the wild, wild party nights Where we dance until the morning light Though deciding what you're gonna wear Can be such a heavy cross to bear Where are all the dreams I signed up for Where are the dreams I signed up for Where are the dreams I thought, I thought These are not the times I signed up for It's not the times I signed up for It's not the times, they're not, they're not, they're not La la la la... Where are all the dreams, bright sunny summer holidays It's not the world I signed up for, it's not, it's not Where are party nights where we would dance 'till morning light It's not the times I signed up for, they're not, they're not, they're not
It's like a step between 'Sainthood's Not In Your Future' and 'Nothing Is As Good As They Say It Is'😅 I thought of 'Sainthood' too, but the lyrics, what I could hear, took a leap to 'Nothing Is'. Made me think it's a darker pre-stadium to 'Nothing Is'..?🤔
@JaggsyJaggs to me it wouldn't have added something new to the album. Thematically it's close to Nothing Is As Good As They Say It Is and sound wise similar to other songs on the album. It's a good track, don't get me wrong, but speaks for R+R to keep the official album as tight as possible.
I was a fan of The Smiths when I was at college in the 1980’s. Morrissey was a huge fan of Sarks in the 70’s, I don’t think what Morrissey says about controversial issues has ever been accurately reported.
Oh my gosh, hello! This video randomly showed up in my recommended and I luckily glanced at its uploader. It's me, leo asteadydripdripdrip! Very nicely done, keep it up. :o)
