Gotta hand it to a guy who refuses to even pretend that this is from the Baroque era. But I like this interpreation better than any of the others I've heard, certainly better than the Conservative ones. Best phrasing I've heard, terrific bell-like quality to every note. The only thing that drives me bananas is his delay of those low-note down-beats. What's up with that? It's so consistent that it's obviously deliberate. But I don't get it. It's uncomfortable.
Well said. Though I truly love the music of Mozart and Bach, there is a depth, beauty, and mystery that ultimately makes him my favorite composer of all.
