I can tell, when I get a seizure because before my absence begins, I begin to smell something stinky that I always bring in connection to the upcoming seizures. That’s why for the longest time me and my family thought these moments were just me feeling ill and nothing more.
The gentleman in the green shirt reminds me of the time that I had a grand mal at JFK and when i had it I went unconscious for 6 mins. I came out on the floor n came out and was surrounded by. I was terrified
This is Scary to me. I have appt to see a neurologist because my husband have recordings of me impaired doing things like rubbing wandering off, not responding to communication. I'm scared asf
It can certainly be scary - but getting informed can help conquer those fears. Glad to hear you are seeing a neurologist and if you are in the Toronto area, please feel free to reach out to us (if not, perhaps there is a local epilepsy organization near you that you could reach out to?).
I've had epilepsy since i was 14, and im 42 now. Had a seizure yesterday, my husband took a day off from work to take care of me. The day of the seizure is quite bad, with a terrible headache, confusion, vomiting and then to top it you'll be left witg bruises from the fall. I have quite a few bruises this time, if course i dont know/remember how i fell. Bit my tongue too, which is causing difficulty eating. To all my fellow epilleptics out there. Take care of yourself, sleep well and take your meds. Much love❤
i wonder if that cause by PSTD. for an example, when you start thinking in the past and the future. i wonder the brain triggered the motion "DAY DREAMING " in simulation of side effect.
Thanks for this video and information on the Chanel! Last night my husband had the same symptoms and i thought that my husband is dying on my hands. Than we understand that he just pas tonic klonik s. Thanks to the video now i know what to do if it's happen again and i didn't get crazy from the panic ❤ Really thank you!
I have this but mine are much milder and only last 20 seconds. The only way I know if I’ve had one, except when told, is if I can feel a memory gap is missing as 0 memory of anything I do or say is ‘logged’
that happens to me before i have my grand mals. i’d have “deja vu” then would go dead quiet, not responding to anyone and looking around, then going into a full body seizure. scary to think of what i look like when it happens.
Thank you , u needed to see this , been battling seizures since 2016 when it started an stopped , they stopped for 5 years then randomly one day was driving and had a seizure while driving , luckily no one was hurt . Back to square one now again but this woman’s story definitely speaks volumes about being a fighter 💪🏾 🙏🏾. Glory and Praises to God for his mercy and grace 💜
This actor was so good, it really made me feel like when I get some seizures as I have different types of epilepsy. I've urinated myself before by accident at work and woke up in an department i don't work in, and the manager questioned if i was making this all up. IDK anyone who just decides "you know what? I'm going to just randomly urinate myself at work in the dairy freezer"
I want sure how it looked but apparently you can still do motions during them and i almost walked off a pier. My mom was so mad at me. 😂 Edit: We knew I had seizures we just didn't really think about it
I have many different seizure types, no medical help. on 2 meds but still uncontrolled. watching these videos, all of them. ah my eyes. my parents don't even care to watch these. it makes me feel.. so.. ah cry
i dont have seizures but i do kind of look at a item and kind of zoned out but not zoned out at the same time and i playing with stuff and then when someone says my name several times i stop looking at the item and stop fidgeting
I have these and feel like I smell a weird or familiar smell, a song could trigger and play on loop in my head while it’s happening, and I feel like I lived the moment before or a strong sense of deja vu. I also have a slight chest pain or headache while its happening and feel like disoriented afterwards
As someone who suffers from this and currently had one on the 4th of this month(pretty bad one) I’ll add that I’ve never really hurt myself thankfully during one of my past seizures but this last one was my 1st day at work separated from my daughter and wife for the 1st time in a long time because jobs usually skip past my application when I alert them to my condition anyways all that with the stress of learning a new everything from scratch is what truly sent me over my threshold and I sadly fell down in the back of the warehouse where there is plenty of long and some what shape pieces of guiding metal around the storages so when I fell I hit my color bone and hip on it while managing to hit my eye against or on it creating a nice round black eye and super deep cut right above my eyelid requiring a lengthy ER stay and stitches and battle to receive my kepra to keep me at least on therapeutic levels of medicine luckily I’ve been since back to work and fully on meds
Wow dude im so glad you're doing ok after all that Do you mind describing what you feel/see/hear when have one? I think i might have had a seizure yesterday and idk what to do Thankfully, someone was there to make sure im ok and im all better now but im really curious as to what happened You of course dont have to share of you dont want to
@@hhsalhov6949 I have no auras I notice so I’m in the same boat as you mine come and go and are very separated in when I have them prior to my may seizure I hadn’t had one in over 3-4 years or so I smoke weed… but it helps me different for others but I don’t let it stop me I live my life as much as possible and do what’s best for your health seriously diet, stress, anxiety etc all play huge roles in it as well as sleep
right in some cases of epilepsy a few people can experience a terrible headache or staring off like me, but for other cases it just happens with no warning
i have a question for you so my birth mom says she has had seizures before but none of us have seen them, im the oldest sister of 2 brothers and only 1 of my brothers got epilepsy but he grew out of them and now suffers with tics and i have had epilepsy ever since i was a baby so my question is may it be possible to skip generations? is that why my youngest didnt get them?
i have photosensitive epilepsy, absence seizures, and grandma seizures. its very difficult to live with them because i dont remember one thing from my childhood because of memory loss from the brain damage
Follow the advice. Also, when they come out of it, reassure them they are OK. Don’t hold back on telling them what happened. Please. Once, someone refused to tell me what happened and it really got me upset (on top of that all happening).
The first step to Seizure first-aid is to stay calm. Saying things like "It's ok", whether or not he is able to hear it, can be very calming for herself, for anyone around, and for him when he does begin to regain consciousness.
my beloved mom got meningitis when she was a child, and thanks Allah a great physician managed to deal with it, but meningitis left her with epilepsy, and today I am coming here to watch some real life examples for the epilepsy lecture ❤❤, thank you for this video Allah protects her.
It’s different for everyone. For me I can tell I’m about to have one, I tell people to be quiet because all sound makes it even more overwhelming. Then for 30 seconds i go through a really overwhelming feeling while I apparently click my tongue. Then afterwards I know what I’m trying to say but I can’t remember the words. I’m also very tired and when I was younger I got extreme migraines
I want to know if I have this. For a long time now it happens. I randomly just stare off into space anytime and it happens for a few seconds, multiple times every day. At first I thought it was just regular daydreaming, but I began to think it was something else. I can still hear when someone is talking to me while it’s happening, but it’s hard to break away from. when I stare off my eyes are blurred and not focused
Ahhh, people experiencing absense seizures are not aware of theirs surroundings. For most, it's kind of like time just skipped. In a good amount of cases, you aren't aware it even happened (which is why it's harder to self diagnose without the help of others). If you're truly concerned, I would go to a doctor. Hope this helped
@@Rowan_Cat I am aware of my surroundings its just that I stare at one thing for a long time thinking of something, I know it happened But thx for explanation
I have been dealing with this for a while now, but now as a healthcare worker, it’s even more important that I face my own health problems. This is one of them. Too often do I find myself stumbling for a seat, or a place to lean, my mind a blank as I am struck with a sudden blow of confusion over all senses. No matter what I do, I eat well, sleep well, etc., it creeps up on me and I’m not lost of all sense but I might just as well be. I mean I really am grateful that of all the times, I haven’t fallen and hit my head. I’ve seen the horrible outcomes. It makes me wonder if I’m simply anemic or if it’s something more. The repeated movements, the loss of spacial awareness, the disassociation, the inability to speak. It’s quite jarring, and I hate it
Thanks for sharing this experience. If you haven't already, please consider speaking to your healthcare provider. People often think that if they aren't falling to the ground and convulsing, it can't be epilepsy - but tonic clinic seizures are just one type of seizure and there are many others. Focal Seizures with retained awareness, for example, don't involve losing consciousness or awareness. Many people with these types of seizures take years to get a diagnosis as they are easier to ignore. But there is a good chance that they could be managed with medication, as is the case 70% of the time, so it is really worth it to seek a diagnosis. All the best.
My daughter has this since the child. I think 4 years I noticed it? We found out officially when she was 9 years old. I wanted my daughter to learn how to help a boy with epilepsy from next door, so I did research how and then found out. For years, the specialist couldn't find out what she had, I was glad we finally knew what was going on with her.🙏🏻 Research in the hospital showed more than 200 absences in one hour. Last week, she went to SEIN to know how many attacks she has now she's 22 years old. This video describes my daughter almost exactly. She asks what you said before when she's back.
I use to think it was behavioral, but this best describes my daughter I could cry I remember times I would tell her to knock it off and quit doing it. She’s 8 years old they started about 2 years ago she’s very smart so I literally thought it was behavioral being that sometimes she would have one in the mist of getting disciplined but that just shows how frequent they are and come. Her doc said it was behavioral as well when I told her about it. But now that her teacher mentions it and other members of community I think it’s best to get it checked out
@@malcilraeure1364 i believed that's what most chldren do in their spare time. "day dreaming" is a dangerous situation when overdo. especiallly, when you are bored. also, watching too much of video like a T.V shows. that also lead to epilepsy. However, " daydreaming" is a def a sign of PSTD. that being said, epilepsy and PSTD are day dreaming.
