Based on the title, I didn’t know it was specifically about spray equipment. I’m wondering how to walk on a silicone roof safely especially if it is pitched, and possibly wet. Are there any special shoes that allow you to walk on wet silicone coated roof?
Your not supposed to walk on it when it's wet. Preparation and Proper steps are important to achieve longevity. For Example: Metal Roof/New (Monday) 1) Pressure wash whole roof and clean any debris (Tuesday) 2) Check and Remove moisture. Methods. >>> (Moisture meter) (Blower) (Sun) (Time) Apply Seam Seal around screws, seams, perimeters, penetrations (AC units, Pipes, etc...) (Wednesday) 3) Check and Remove moisture. Methods. >>> (Moisture meter) (Blower) (Sun) (Time) Apply 1st silicone coating (Spray) (Thursday) 4) Check and Remove moisture. Methods. >>> (Moisture meter) (Blower) (Sun) (Time) Apply 2nd coating.
Not very practical for doing edges, dripping on sides would be likely. Additionally, your going to be up on a roof and won't be stepping over the sides. Recoated by roof solo with only one roller and a brush for the edges. Bottom line, just use a 11/4 nap roll and skip the needless equipment.
