Lovely shade under that tree for them☺ I started with 4 chickens 3 years ago and now have about 34 - 2 roosters and 32 hens - mostly rhode island reds- about 4 black australorps too☺
I saw homesteaders spraying them with 'fog spray' setting to keep them cool- there are special pipes spraying a fog like spray that you can install somewhere and they will go stand in the spray☺
Here we have a hen that makes much more noise than the rooster can...no idea why she's so loud, but she is. I'll video it one day, you'll kill yourself laughing.
I give mine pellets but you can also give select fruits, vegetables and grains will keep chickens happy and ensure they are receiving a nutritionally balanced diet. Good choices include leafy greens, cooked beans, corn, non-sugary cereals and grains, berries, apples and most other fruits and vegetables.
