It's not going to be pleasant since Houston has messed up roads everywhere. Thankfully I live on the outskirts of Houston. As for dealerships. They're all mostly going to sell you more than what the GR86 is worth. Negotiate with multiple dealers. See who will go the lowest. I ended up driving over an hour to Tegeler Toyota in Brenham, TX since they had one that had been sitting on their lot for a couple months. They gave me the lowest price out of everyone for the trim and color I was looking for.
Nice. I've got basically the exact same car, sans the exhaust. Try slowly learning rev matching, then heel-toe; that sound at 6:10 when you shift into first while moving isn't good, as you're wearing out your synchros fast (I made the same mistake while learning). Now, I just downshift down the line into second. Good luck!
I’ve had issues with my Q60B with HDMI/eARC/CEC. After dealing with it for 18 months I finally had enough and returned the TV, Samsung were no help but their hand was forced with Australian consumer laws, full refund. Eat a dick Samsung your TVs are garbage
Hows the driving so far?! Some people will swear the clutch spring is perfect but I think they are out of their mind. If you haven't already, look into the mtec clutch spring. Makes feeling the bite point muchhhhhh better. Installing is a pain the ass though..
Hit 1,000 miles, changed oil and loving it! Clutch still takes some getting used to, and throttle response could be sharper, especially when blipping. I'll keep that MTECH clutch spring in mind. Thx!
@@KrisHTX Imma be straight up the throttle response is one of the worst things about our cars. The way it's programmed, it's 0 to 70% with not much press so unless you get it tuned out, don't let it discourage you. If you were curious about feeling the spring, let me know I'm down to meet, I go to Mo City every weekend lol Start letting it rip!
good to know, thanks. Getting my BRZ and it is nice to know the nose is ok. I thought you're gonna back up into your garage instead of heading nose first.
I haven't witnessed it much here in the UK but what is it with you guys not telling if a car is in neutral or not? What's all this wiggling 😂 surely it must do your head in worrying about it. All US car channels seem to do it lol
It's interesting how when you're coming to a stop you throw it in neutral and let go of the clutch and let it coast. I usually just brake first until I'm almost stopped and then step on the clutch and then throw it in neutral and release the clutch while at a stop. I like your way though.
I was also having a bit of a hard time watching you skip 2nd gear that many times, even though it's fine if you are high on the rpm band, but I'm more of the type of person to barely use 1st gear. Shifting low rpm on 1st to 2nd is fine, and it removes some of the stress off of the clutch and tranny, and makes the driving smoother. I only do mid-long 1st gear when I absolutely need the torque (hill) or want a fast start.
You are doing great! That incline gear skip is a negative lol The gr86 doesn't have a ton of tq so help the motor out by just going into second. Skipping gears is perfectly good at higher revs and you did it well just yeah not at that low an rpm on an incline is all. You did great.. like anything you will get better over time and your muscle memory will take over as you drive it more. Once you have the basics down you will learn to rev match properly on downshifts (you don't have to heel toe, you can blip the throttle and it works excellently as well in non-race driving as in some cars it can make it a little weird depending on your foot size and pedal spacing.) I love the eurobeat playing too btw haha great vid brother!
Appreciate this a lot. Yeaa maan I remember watching Initial D about 20 years ago and my dad had a RX-7 FC which was also a manual which I learned how to drive. So it was very cool! It was short-lived though since the engine didn't last long. Coming from a beat up Corolla '03..it's amazing to have this 86.
you're really lugging that motor going from 1st to 3rd at barely any mph like that, why skip 2nd gear??? Also try not to coast in neutral for so long...if you can try and stay in gear for as long as you can while coming to a stop..you never know what can happen in front of you and if youre in neutral youre screwed. just my 2 cents!
Idk I figure I was saving gas skipping a gear lol. And I don't feel I need to accelerate as much sometimes. Good to know though. Also I got a question. Should I go into first gear when going up my driveway? Or just just stay in second?
@@KrisHTX You dont save gas when engine is at low rpm- you save gas with light throttle pressure. You dont save gas by coasting in neutral as opposed to just staying in gear without touching the throttle either. Flooring it in high gear at a low speed is pointless at best, increases wear and tear on the engine at worst (especially when going uphill in high gear). As a beginner you take off really well and you dont ride the clutch a lot (which shortens its lifespan), keep it up. Skipping gears is ok, but just make sure the engine is above 1500 when in gear. While youre still learning- stay in first when in parking lots and up your driveway. Once you get better you can just coast onto your driveway and use momentum instead but it really doesnt matter either way. Great job making the jump to manual and going outside your comfort zone- it really is such a waste if you like cheap sports cars but cant enjoy them properly by getting an auto that isnt a DCT. Half the fun in an entry level performance car is the handcrafted manual gearbox developed specifically for your car and practicing MT techniques like rev matching & heel toeing but dont start doing it until you are comfortable driving 'normally' as if youre driving an econobox or SUV.
Update from samsung this week. Finally the passthrough is working! First time Sonos is getting the correct audio format from the apple tv via earc out of the samsung. Other then dolby atmos everything else up to this week was stereo pcm. Always suspected it was the Samsung the frame tv.
I didn't have this issue with my PS5 and my QN90b, passthrough seems to work fine, but my issue is the HORRIBLE audio sync issues. I couldn't get them fixed no matter what I did with my older onkyo 5.1.2 reciever. I had to go out and buy a new one, and just have everything going through the reciever. It's mostly fixed my audio sync issues. I do tend to get them when I use my 4k blu ray player, but not when I use my PC or PS5 anymore. I really wish I had kept my LG CX, but I was in the market for a bigger tv and the sale price for the 75" seemed too good to pass up. Wish I had done more research.
This is something that completely ruins your TV experience. Had mine for almost a year now, cannot get any surround sound outta the earc port, frustrating as hell. Samsung support treat you like you are a technology novice and dont understand shit. "Have you considered the limitations of your reciver with the tv" well yes it worked perfectly with my previous tv. Ended up using optical. Product not fit for sale as advertised
Funny I have LG GX and I have no issue with dolby atmos earc passthrough. I bought samsung S95C couple of days ago and now I have this issue. This is ridiculous.
I agree with you that the TV has issues related to its eARC connector. My issue is different at the moment, but still an issue none the less. I have the Q90T with a Denon S760H. When I power on the TV it will not power on the receiver, but when I turn the power off on the TV it does power off the receiver. If I connect the receiver up to a much older Samsung TV with ARC, the power on/off feature works correctly. The same goes for my Marantz SR6015 receiver. I had sound issues with my previous Yamaha receiver, so I figured it was just a problem with a cheap receiver. I have gone through and made sure I upgrade my cables to certified HDMI 2.1 cables that can support up to 8K, even though I am using only 4K. I have a different setup, though, as I am using the receivers as the main source, and plug everything into the receiver. Sound and video seem to be more cooperative that way. After reading this I am feeling a bit more down about the purchase. I've already owned the TV for 2 years, so I am out of warranty and return period, and it is just now that I am was trying to do a more advanced setup. I just purchased a QN85 yesterday that will go in the entertainment room with my Marantz receiver. I am hoping I don't run into these issues with the eARC there with that TV.
Got a s95b oled.. you know how much they cost.. one of the big selling points for me was earc and Dolby atmos. Guess what? Doesn't work. On my vizio elevate as well as the q930b soundbar.. nothing but issues
I have a THE FRAME 2021 55" , connected to my Denon E300 receiver over the E-ARC HDMI port. The ANYNET TV+ is enabled, E-ARC is AUTO, but DIGITAL OUTPUT AUDIO only displays PCM and AUTO , PASSTHRU is grayed out, so the sound that goes into the receiver is STEREO ONLY! How can I enable it to watch Netflix, Prime Videos, HBO Max using Dolby Digital? Thats crazy, I have tried everything but nothing works! This worked fine with my old Samsung 55NU entry LED 2018 TV
@@PoW_22-AME_Gaming how did you get it to work, I mean, to make Pass-Thru be available when watching Smart Apps from the TV (netflix, disney+, amazon prime, etc)?
I have a The Frame 2021, and PassThru is grayed out when I choose the Smart Apps (Netflix, Amazon prime, HBO max), so I can only select PCM or Auto, and both transmit Stereo sound only to the receiver. Did anyone got it to work?
I have been having issues with ARC for a while. I have a Samsung Q90T and I've plugged the HDMI in the TV ARC port and in my Denon AVRX2700H and it worked for a while and now it stopped working and now its only showing on the tv under the setup Optical and tv speaker only?? not sure why this isn't working? I've disconnected the HDMI and reconnected it and still does not work? It was working for a while and last night i went on HULU and as soon as I launched that app it stopped working. I thought I would see if you could provide me some guidance. Thank you. Ed
