Your garden is looking beautiful! I follow a master gardener who says that lavender HATES compost around its roots. He recommends removing as much of the dirt as it comes with in the pot and then planting into native soil. They also like to have more water than we think. I have planted lavender over the few years I have been gardening and have had some good luck and some struggles, but I am trying his method with more success. Also, what are those beautiful tall terra cotta pots in your front yard. Do you have a link for those? I’m in So Cal too ! Orange County. Thanks again

Hi Colleen I sprayed a copper insecticide I’ve been researching it and sooty fungus mold is caused by insects that secretes a honeydew on the plant Also saw that you can treat it with insecticide soap It’s usually attacks citrus trees. Have a beautiful weekend🌸☺️ 💚L🐝

Lavender….I have a few different lavender cultivars doing well in my garden (Eastvale, CA 9b-10a). I do amend my clay soil with cactus & succulent mix. With proper soil I find they want to be watered like the rest of my perennials. I posted a video on RU-vid😊💜

Looking great! I and a few friends already have our tickets for the garden tour! I can't wait to meet you. We are all 'real' gardeners and admire you for being on a garden tour in October, not an easy time for our gardens. Hoping that most of the climbing roses in the front are Edens, looks like the white one is likely climbing Iceberg. Regarding lavender - I am in South OC, 10b. The only lavender I have had success with is French lavender. They need plenty of sun, don't like to be over-fertilized or overwatered. They need regular shearing to control the size. If you don't shear them, they get too large and the center gets woody. In my opinion, English and Spanish are not great in our area, too easy to overwater them and get root rot.

Hi Laura 🌺. What a beauty . Your garden looks stunning with these amazing plants and I love these pretty jasmine I have them in my garden . You can plant salvia along the white fence of lavender . Maybe the proplem with lavender is to much water causing the roots to rot or there is shade . Have a fantastic day .🌺🌻🌺

So beautiful! You definately have a eye for designing a garden and see your vision come to life! One suggestion I have is to consider doing the same drive way pavement under your table instead of rocks. The rocks will be to much maintenance every time someone moves the chairs and will damage the legs. Just a suggestion. Love all of your flower/plant/tree choices for the heat hear in SoCal zone 10B.
