This is a great informative video in this product! Question: Will we see this “as is” played against other decks (like Love Live, which is the set I want)? I want to see how truly powerful this deck can be.
This is such a solid all-around TD. The CXs are good, the CX triggers are good, the finisher is great, a stock swap is included, the search events are really solid for compression both by sending themselves to memory and letting you convert CXs into playables. This is a genuinely competent deck that I wouldn't be ashamed to take to a tournament with just a few tweaks.

The red lvl1 cxc is better than the lvl0 choice in shana. It's better to keep the lvl1 red and go like a normal 1k 1 deck in early game than keeping the yellow choice and do nothing.(Talking about the Mulligan ) If you want to get more spaces and add more options in shana your early plays lineup should be 2 of the yellow 1 and 3 of the red 1. The red rize for event will be the best addition from dengeki aswell
i love the 3 rules rimuru. play a couple of them in my slime list. and before i saw the standby level 1 take off, i also thought the doors will be the pivot.
I still wonder what an all soul deck would be like. All your climax's are double soul, almost all your characters have 2 or more soul, and maybe burn damage if its possible.
Awesome video. Tried the green deck, super consistent on early game. Mutsu really works with Hanazuki. The two climax combo are my favorite in those td cards. But the events and Mutsu feel really scarry to use when my compression is good. Is it possible to make it even stronger?
So, why does the 1/1 Yuji seem so busted--particularly in the burn heavy meta--but im not seeing anyone (locally at least) talking about the set? is the anti burn effect too conditional? too held back by the set? curious as to what the channel's thoughts are on the matter.
The latter in part, as the upcoming dengeki set has multiple cards including the superior top-end finisher that make shana genuinely competitive, but more so that it's very easy card to interact with, even within Shana as a set (red 1/1 event kills it). Every current and upcoming meta contender I can think of has the ability to bounce, shrink, or kill stuff in the backrow. Additionally, effects that don't cause auto damage, but still push for damage (Aqua restand, Milim clock-kick, escanor cxc, etc) get around the yuji easily. Don't get me wrong, it is an exceptionally powerful effect, but the best sets and decks have answers to it already. And since it exists in EN now, EN players will start teching against it and it gets considerably worse. Yuji helps you not die, but it doesn't really help you win. And there are better defensive decks in the meta already (like slime).
The set just has nothing else than yuuji. Only, combo and characters surviving can do ressources without clocking yourself in the entiere set and in weiss no ressources means no compression by default so you instant lose to anything that has a good early/mid game and can guyguyguy climax You have little to no deckspeed outside combo and the 1/0 event which doesn't help for deck control. Means bad starting hand or first deck and you lose + Yuuji has counters like bounce/shrink/killing him/walling your lanes so you don't meet the requierments. And the set is boring to play. That's many reason why ppl are not interested in Shana. I do keep playing the deck because even with all those drawback yuuji is often strong enough to catch people off guard. Shana is a bad set but you have to respect it otherwise you might just lose to yuuji and the lvl1 red combo
I still think that the Coco 3 is fine until the Dengeki finisher shows up. Having an actual finisher is much better imo bc EN has too much random bs that could blow up the deck from lvl2 on. Curious to see how the deck works but I have my doubts for the deck as it is without a dedicated finisher suite. Thank you for the deck list, the deck is gorgeous. Best of luck in your games
Thanks for the deck profile! This deck looks interesting in current meta (pre banlist) with Gura and Aki running around. Could be a good anti meta and I could imagine it being pretty successful in trios. Excited for the gameplay videos coming up :)
I played that build and it's an extremly feast or famine deck with no ways to fix your bad hands plus having 2 plussing combos at roughtly the same time in the game means that often enough it will hinder your lines of play. I don't recommend to play this. I don't think shana without dengeki is playable and if you still wanna try it just play the restander finisher.
after testing the set for a while in JP I can tell you that the best deck once we get dengeki will be 8 door. the lvl1 combo is stronger than the lvl0 choice one IMO
the events in this set are: - a 1/0 torch counter, reprint of an 2/1 4500 event counter (same name) - 2/1 Alastor search event reprinted using a 2/1 character art from the EB (same name as the character without the shana name) - 1/1 kill a cost 1 or lower event reprinted using the art of a 4k oversize also from the EB (same name as the character without the shana name)
just curious how do you feel about the banning of Sokka: Offering Different Perspectives and how will it effect the deck for all of Avatar the last air bender
I think that while they did need to hit Sokka in some capacity, a full on ban is rather unfortunate for Avatar players. A more elegant solution might have been to restrict Sokka on a Choice list with the 2/2 and 3/2 Azulas, and letting him roam free in the non-standby builds. The upside is that if Bushiroad futureproofs a potential Korra set with the Sokka Ban, not needing to worry about designing a new set around one problematic card. I will say that some players are slightly overreacting to Sokka's departure on the effect of other decks. Sokka was definitely the premier L0 clock advantage option, but the RR Zuko is also an extremely solid card. -Mike

It’s a bit difficult as the normal yellow splash, 0/0 Wukong or Neon Katt, have their slots taken up by Lie Ren bomb and 0/0 Ozpin. I’m also not sure if there’s necessarily a need for Twin Drive in this particular build.

I recently got the support, first impression of one of my friends was "man, that deck need soooo much stock, how are you gonna even play??" 1 duel and 10 stock later, i finish the game without paying one stock to play a card (game was over before I hit level 3) Decks feels so comfortable, but still thinking of a replacement for level 0 James, no one in my country it's trading even 1 single copy T-T
Love to see these RWBY deck tests, gives me an idea how the new cards work with the old set. Using the deck you made for the lvl 3 ruby's with some editing since I have 3 of most RR rarity. Added the lvl 1 event nora from set 1 as well which is really good.
Two years ago, I started Weiss Schwarz with RWBY, after buying a few cards, and I becoming curious about the game. That's when I stumbled upon your content. Two years later, I'm so glad to have a new set and new videos from you guys with my favorite set, RWBY. Thank you for your amazing work !
Yeah Mike got the line by the end, two clock shoots plus 3 attacks, very fun. Lower ceiling than some of the insane finishers we’ve had, but we’re moving away from those now anyway, and as of right now it’s the only deck that can do this particular line
It's been a while since I played WS and I'm coming back because of this extra booster. Why is the "Tyrian: Amused" good? Are there many effects now from lvl 0 that reverse level 1? This wasn't a thing in my time lol
Tyrian cannot be reversed by *cost* 0 or lower characters, so in a meta where at level 1 most decks only play costless characters, Tyrian can survive a decent amount of turns or force the opponent to play a costed character to answer them. Tyrian is a lot weaker in metas where standby is prevalent with their own costed characters at level 1 (Hololive standby, RWBY standby mirror, etc)

Always love your takes on deck building and hope your speech in the end helps mitigate the negative comments from players in the community who just simply look at the cards and go "meh" or "this new set does nothing".
Not using the Emerald Brainstorm in 8 door or the level 0 Mercury? Also, I prefer Ruby level 1 over the Cinder, even if Cinder is on flavor. I also like the level 2 Emerald if you can fit in more green.
Even though the Emerald brainstorm was designed for the 8 door villain deck, tap 2 characters and being a search instead of salvage are both disadvantages compared to tap self salvage of Nora. Mercury is a good card but conflicts with the new level 1 Arthur, and we’re also running 2/1 Cinder later down the line as well. That Emerald 2/1 is definitely a card to consider but like you mentioned, green is an issue and it didn’t seem like there were enough green cards worth playing. Ruby level 1 is definitely the better combo in most regards compared to Cinder, we wanted to feature different combos for flavor though!
