Doctor can you make a video about ‘writing’. How should one grip the pencil, where should it rest/pivot, are wrist braces useful, flexing the fingers only or the wrist as well……
I made this video for any car. It doesn't matter that it's a sedan. If the car seat is not providing ample support to your lumbar area, then a lumbar support pillow might be necessary
I'm sure that Dr. Litchfield is a warm and caring person, and may even be an amazing chiropractor. That said, as a 40+ year practitioner of Applied Kinesiology myself, I must question her ability to assess the significance of her unreproducible muscle testing procedure. Pressing in the belly of the gastrocnemius, or poking the tips of the fingers in the Achilles tendon are not the recommended technique, and would cause me to question any conclusions based on such an evaluation.
That's not what this is for. This is for those who "slip a rib" in a chiropractic sense. It's a sharp pain usually noticed with deep breaths, coughing, and/or sneezing
They can! When using the word ergonomic to describe a keyboard, it can mean many things. The long of the short of it is, you want a keyboard that will help you maintain neutral posture. This applies to wrists and shoulders mostly. Keeping in mind key height and comfort will also help in selecting the right keyboard for you
So simple yet so effective! My left leg was getting nerve numbness whenever I layed on my left side. I did this exercise on both sides and voila! It's fixed. Thank you!
wow, i've been looking for a video like this for the longest time. I personally play a ton of games and I am usually always in my game setup. Thanks to this video, I can switch to a more ergonomic mode.
Lol I looked it up afterwards and saw the price. You're right, my guess was a third of the price. I should have known better, as most of these pillows are priced around this one. Thank you for watching!
Very interesting, this is the only version I have seen with the chin to chest. Most look straight or even some extend the neck. Your version here with the chin to chest is the only thing that works for me. Everything else just makes me feel tighter and brings on more pain. Any reason for that you think?
I am not sure why this is better for you versus doing it other ways. I would say that you should keep doing it as shown in my video. Doing things that cause pain very rarely are beneficial
Super helpful. When typing, forcing yourself to hover is okay because you are going to stop and rest your hands and arms anyway. But what about gaming? When you're playing on the PC, your left hand needs to be on the keyboard almost 100% of the time. It's a real pain to keep them hovered for so long.
Hello doctor, I just found your video trying to find a video of typing ergonomically because I suspect I've developed carpal tunnel. Can you please answer the following? Thank you: 1) Do you have a video for typing on a laptop keyboard? Those can't be put on a tray. 2) I'm less than 5 feet tall. How should I position my body to type on a laptop keyboard? I'm having a bit of trouble following this video. I'd appreciate any help you can give me - I have arthritis issues as well.
@@PainReliefChiropractic This is so kind of you, thank you so much! May I ask you another question? Is there any type of definitive way to tell if pains in your hand/wrist, etc. is carpal tunnel, tendonitis, arthritis or something else? I've been trying to Google but it's so hard to figure it out, my symptoms are all over the place (sometimes shooting pains, sometimes stiffness/swelling, sometimes limited hand mobility or pain after I've used the hand too much, and I also have these odd bumps underneath my skin in my arm). I'm not sure what to think. Any ideas? Do you think a wrist brace or splint could help? Thanks again, have a great day as well!
@ilurvemv that is why people become doctors 😉... To help people. Find a provider in your area to diagnose your issue. It's a stressful and often fruitless journey to diagnose an issue yourself with Dr. Google. I can only provide so much through the screen here. Please do yourself and see somebody. Have a wonderful day!
@@PainReliefChiropractic thank you again. Yeah, I know I should see someone - my work insurance is not great (bad deductible, ugh) and I hate to admit this as a grown woman with two graduate degrees but I know they'll ask for labwork and needles still freak me out lol. I know I'll have to suck it up and see someone. Thanks again, have a wonderful day as well! :)
I got De Quervain's Tenosynovitis and the doctor said to switch to a mouse where the primary click is on the side so that the thumb is clicking it. She said that will be easier on it. Is this something you'd recommend?
It can help but your best bet is to work on changing your posture with the following exercises: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qapSLfElygE.html
This is misinformation being spread at it's finest. Calories matter for this little fasting experiment. It's called calories in and out bro. If you eat too many calories during your eating window like you said... You'd still gain weight brother.
I also recommend taking your hands out of the usual, palm-down, mouse-holding position as often as possible. The neutral position (like you're holding a coffee mug) is much less stress on your tendons than the palm-down position that we scroll and type with.
