You are partially correct. Salvation is not fire insurance. But it is also not “living the life of Jesus in the here and now.” Salvation is a gift of grace bestowed upon guilty sinners for which they paid no price, in which they played no part, and to which they contributed nothing except their sin. Salvation is granted to those who believe in Christ by faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Ric and Marcie Schweitzer from Parker Colorado checking in on the replay. Thank you for sharing God's word and beautiful music. God bless you Patrick and God bless Our Safe Harbor Church.
I'm going to be sharing this with my friend that's struggling with the idea of hell and a loving God. Thank you, Patrick and Our Safe Harbor! Greetings from Northeastern Iowa!
Christ's work on the cross affected ALL, and ALL will be reconciled to God. Read Paul's letters. God saves because he is God. In fact, GOD IS SALVATION! We are under GRACE, not works! The church doesn't teach this!!! 1 Corinthians 15:22 - "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive".
@@ZayneEnterprizes no, but we can find money to serve God. Doesn’t it cost a missionary $10,000 to serve a mission? Do you think $10k is easy to come by? So what happens if we started a fund the missionaries account so that 18 yr olds don’t need to worry about finding the money to serve a mission?
Meaning that since both adulterers were not taken to be stoned then one alone didn't have to pay with death for both. Yet his mercy is so great that he paid for us all and we need only believe. How great you are Lord, holy holy holy! 😭
I can understand not wanting to live a hedonistic and materialistic lifestyle. But, I've never met a man who wants less power. We all want more power but it's impolite to admit.
Nah, man. Not everybody wants power. I've met people who crave power, but I've also met ppl who aren't interested in power. Rather, they're just interested in making sure their necessities are covered and their fundamental liberties are safe.
@@max05275 when you truly put your faith in God, who has ALL the power imaginable and unimaginable, you don't need power, you don't the desire for it anymore, you will only desire Him. God made us to be with Him in joy, but we chose to stay away from Him, and now we are suffering in this cruel world, but Jesus Christ sacrified Himself for us, so that we could be forgiven of all of our sins whenever we repent. Put your trust in Christ, and you will experience true joy, even through suffering. God bless🙏✝️
Matthew 16:24-26 KJV Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? The Bible also says, Genesis 3:4-5 KJV And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
@@RodgersHaftacreHomestead well, technically satan the serpent wasn’t exactly wrong about this, but only 1part. You won’t become Gods but you will certainly know right from wrong. God set satan up to tempt Eve, then Adam, then they both fell. Satan is part of Gods plan and he did serve his purpose.
Thank you for this insight Pastor. I grew up in the church of Christ, and by that I mean the ultra conservative church of Christ you know the one where all the other churches of Christ members were going to hell? Most of the sermons I remember from a childhood and part of my adulthood, we’re talking about other people, other churches and their beliefs, and how we are not agree with themand it’s our job to show them where they are wrong. I’m 62 and I would much rather spend days loving people and letting God sort out the rest.
I really think there's something fundamental people don't get about wrestling with God. They infer that it's okay to be real with God about what you disagree with him. But nowhere does this part of his story imply he was fighting God because of a disagreement. God maimed him, let him win, and then the said "I will not let you go until you bless me?" Seems to me it was a contest, and Jacob wanted his reward.
Great message Patrick! I love to learn about our Father's creation - the photos from the space - I find them mesmerizingly beautiful. Looking forward to next week's message, it sounds intriguing. Prayers and love to sound stage and Ms. Kami 💖 y'all rock!
