The snickerbutter burrito...! 😂 I hope your last few days have some joy...the scenery is awesome, but you don't sound like you're enjoying the journey for this day. Onward to Stehekin.
Stunning views! Hiking through Spider Gap was incredibly beautiful. I hear ya on the rock scrambling, though! Interesting re-route! Again, thank you for sharing your journey! 🥾🥾
Awesome tattoo Hammer 🛠!!! Now you have to finish PCT!!! Thanks for beautiful views of Washington!!! You're in a Rainforest that goes all way to Alaska along the coast! 💯 miles go till the border!!! Outstanding!!!
I remember the first time I was predawn hiking and saw bats in the light of my headlamp. A whole meadow full of beautiful gossamer acrobats. Definitely cute little fuckers! Glad you like them too. Best to you and CC and your aching feet and hips. Hope you both feel better :)
I think my first thru hike will be the 300 mile Superior Hiking Trail some time next year. We all get burned out. Working in Healthcare has burned me the hell out twice in the past 6 years, but I made a plan to retire early soon at 41. I plan on hiking my legs off after that.
Looking at Gaias. I think I see Diesels reroute which has lots of road walk. You still probably went over Spider Gap and re-acquired PCT just W of Cloudy Pass.
Really pretty town, with beautiful mountains all around it. Nice! Probably kinda pricey, though? Bummer that the hot tub time wasn't so hot, but glad to hear it was still a little relaxing.
