Hearing from my airpods..sound clearer than most car most probably due to ev better soundproofing..acceptable i guess..not the best but better than some combustion engine 12speaker
noob question: V10 engine but requires 2,900 RPM to maintain 70 MPH / 112 KPH? In comparison, Mazda CX-9 Turbo with less power and torque only needs 2,500 RPM for same speed. Any explanation for that one?
The 2024 isnt any better, I recently got it and came online to see if anyone has any issues with audio before I go to the dealership to complain that there is something wrong with my car
Haha, yeah unfortunately this is about as bad as it gets in a modern car. The rest of the car is great, however, and perhaps some simple speaker swaps can improve it.
I concur on the Integra's system. Can be bass heavy but I love that about it. My second car when I got out of high school was a 2003 Park Ave Ultra. I had a huge capacitor, extra optima battery, 0G wiring, 2x JL Audio 13w6, component speakers, tweeters, a couple eminence in the 6x9 rear deck...it was stupid loud and clear. But since then (4 cars later) I've had nothing but stock speakers. This ELS is incredible as far as stock speaker systems. It's plenty loud, plenty boomy, and clear. I'm no audiophile but I've never had a car with better audio out of the box, not even close. 2024 Pearl White Integra Type S.
Ouch 17 speaker system that sound so bad? I use expensive headphones and dac. So unless youtube video sound is too compressed this sound system is very average. Even Bose sound as good
I tested CRV, Kia Sportage, Skoda Kodiaq, VW Tiguan and Rav4. CRV sound system was best compared to highest trim offered in europe and best audio. What shock me the most was Kia. Their subwoofer was weakest somehow. I wasnt sure if its turned on or not. When i changed bass level it didnt make almost any difference like it didnt exist. Even thou i double checked it was there. I tested using Roon Arc streaming my flacs directly from my server. Skoda had mby a bit better higher pitch sound but not much. But overall feeling and bass was best in CRV no doubt. I even doubted Tiguan premium sound as it didnt feel that premium at all compared to CRV. Tiguan sounded cleaner a bit due to better interior insulation but thats about it. Honda has done well with Bose system.
Just purchased this vehicle ( ID.4 AWD Pro S Model 2022) 97% of this vehicle my lady and I love it. The other 3% of things lacking for us are the lack of backlit buttons on the front dash, odd rear window controls on the driver side and...sadly the sound system which is indeed lacking though the rest of the vehicle works very well for us.
Just an off topic note. The interior in the new NSX is horrific. No wonder nobody bought that car, no one would be happy paying $200,000 to feel like they are sitting in a TL.
I’d say these ratings make sense for sure. GMC seems to think if they just slap a Bose system and a good few speakers in it will sound good. My dad has a 2018 Yukon with 10 speakers, and it’s very clear, but that’s it, and the bass disappears from songs. I’ve been way more impressed with the B&O Play system in my 2018 F-150 which is also 10 speakers, but is 3 times more powerful and just as clear. I can hear everything I can with headphones on with this sound system, and the bass really hits without pushing air or distorting sound in the cabin. Something that Ford’s old Sony systems can’t really say.
I would say V60 harman kardon is a bit better than what you have in Polestar. We have both and at least everybody in my family thinks Volvo is a bit better. Difference what we notice is in low end bass.
The S60/XC60 S90/XC90 doesn't have any noticeable compression at high vols like this system does with a 2 inch larger subwoofer. They all still are pretty good sounding, without getting too close to the Bowers and Wilkins upgrade This surround sound system is 7.1 channels, so I'm not sure a 5.1 track would work properly
I just got the 2025 toyota hatchback XSE. I see above my head on the ceiling a little… speaker maybe? Its also on the passenger side. Maybe its for the AC?? I can’t find information anywhere what that little circular thing is tbh
It seems like Volvo's excellent sound systems get sent to Polestar too. I am really interested in hearing the facelifted Porsche Taycan's Burmester system compared to Bose if possible.
Yes depends on your needs. For me the better chassis and handling and nicer design made me choose Polestar. Plugsurfing works fine in Europe at least for me.
@verynick yeah 2024 dual motor. Screwed together much better and much quieter than the older model 3s. Drove one of those, single motor, as a rental in atl. Stereo knocks, is very clear, does not distort, solid bass you feel.
@thomaswestin9987 I'm an anxious dude and wanted the biggest range I could afford, 341 in mine, and best easiest charging, I pitch new business, and I want to road trip. But yeah the polestar stuff is dope. Also love rivian R2 that's coming. And lucid gravity.
@@johnmac609 Polestar 2 Long range single motor MY24 has really good range, 655 km WLTP. That is just 23 km less than Model 3 Long range. Not much difference for road trips IMHO
Things they should have added or removed: all that black piano needs to go, and the second row needs more venting as does the third row. Second-row cool/ventilated seats need properly stitched leatherette on the under door panel it shouldn't cost more its at $76k it needs to have that. Make it a mild hybrid that might give a better mpg. The non-types Advance and Apec Advance are literally $70k just make turbo v6 the standard powertrain and make the type s a high output or make it a PHEV I wouldn't say V8 since only the Germans are the only ones with V8 left. No one need 31 speakers plus the ELS system was the best it seems bang&Olsen buying out all this auto makers you and Genesis dropped lexicon for them.
I switched from a 19 s60 with B&W to a 22 nx with ML, and spent last two years missing my s60 attached to that B&W every time I listen to something in the car 😢
It's tough with stock audio, because as a GenX we had trunks filled with subs and high end alpine or kicker components in shitty cars in the mid 90's to mid 00's.. today they have gotten better at giving you a good sounding stock radio, but.. It's gotta be hard to review these stock radios when the after market is still so much better..😂
yes, the top end system gives you an 9in sub I believe, this share the 6.5in with the lower end cars and the Audi 10 speaker. the 19 speaker on the 5 and below also shares this same sub size. you have to step up to the 6 series and above to get the bigger sub
Charlie, just want to add some things. the front door woofers are mid bass specific, they face parallel with the car to reduce rattles, and the a pillar tweeter is the regular tweeter and the speaker far up on the dash is a 3d midrange
