Thanks for this Fin, I’m 52 now, but in my teens I grew up in Ivybridge, it took 15mins to get from my house to the Moorgate, I used to go up on my own and with friends, and 10 Tors with the school. It’s a special place, and helped with my mental health too. It’s hard to describe, but there is an energy and a sense of peace that I’ve not experienced anywhere else. Just stumbled across your RU-vid video and recently started wild camping on Dartmoor. Are you able to tell me where you went please and where the nearest car park etc would be. Hi Nicola! This was at along the east river dart, the coordinates exactly are: 50.6159437, -3.9249341 I was dropped off at the Postbridge visitor centre but I believe there is some local parking nearby, worth having a google just to be sure! There's a public footpath that starts from the visitor centre, dead easy to follow
Interesting video. I’ve only really been into hiking for about 8 months I just seemed the next logical step was to wild camp. So far only done two both with my dog unfortunately the wife isn’t interested except in a few of the hikes. I picked up The OEX Phoxx 2 v 2 I absolutely love it, I’m a total novice regarding tents but it’s a doddle to set up. I feel I’ve been very lucky with all the gear I’ve picked up so all works perfectly. I’m hoping to get down to Dartmoor over the next few weeks for a few days legit wild camping with my ever faithful dog I live in Kent which is far more populated than most of Devon so stealth is definitely name of the game in my neck of the woods pun intended. The Phoxx to is perfect as it’s low profile helps with the stealthiness Keep up the channel,

Hi Phill, it's just down from Norsworthy Car Park, if you're going around the reservoir clockwise you'll see it about 100m or so after passing Nosworthy. Its right at the end of the reservoir, practically at the base of Sheepstor
Lovely video Fin! Started to feel very emotional when you were there enjoying the peace, beauty and solitude of Dartmoor. It's a special place, and hard to describe the emotions. The last wild camp I did was close to Watern Tor, definitely a stunning tor to visit. I've missed it, but all being well hope to continue my love affair with it very soon. Thankyou mate! Its such a nice spot and quick to get too if you don't fancy a big trek, its just down the road from the Norsworthy Bridge Car Park, if you're going clockwise around the reservoir. Or you can still access it from Norsworthy bridge if its full. Cracking area with tons of spots to pitch up.
Such a solid little tent, especially for how well it holds up in poor weather and the price, but i do sometimes wish i had more headroom when being confined to it during the rain. But thats the trade-off with how useful it is! Thanks for the support!

Great video, thanks for sharing your wild camp in this beautiful area, and for your thoughts too. It occurred to me as i watched what a relief it must be to camp without any concern for snakes or other things that might have capacity to kill you! 😳 As im sure you know, we need to be slightly more mindful of such things here in Australia. Speaking of our beautiful country and camping/bush craft in it, you might check out this channel - Scotty goes on some incredible trips, here and also in NZ, and demonstrates incredible skills but also a real love of nature. I dont know him, but really enjoy watching his vids and they could be transferrable to you / your camping business. Great tent budget tent the phoxx, I have the phoxx 1 and had to upgrade quickly because I felt like I was in a coffin I bought it his as a cheap one before I got into the hobby 😂 but can imagine the 2 is slightly more roomier, great video Fin keep up the good work🤙🏼
I love the Phoxx tents, very solid for the price, and i can agree with you on the space of the 1 man 😂 The 2 is perfect, especially with a bigger pack on, I'll hopefully show more of it off in the next video, thankyou!
Great vid, jsut subbed. Love the phoxx 2, I was going to ugprade but i decided to get the expedition tarp for it and it's really transformed it, gives me a nice outdoor space in the rain to sit.
