I am Liz, and welcome to The Poppy Library. Here we talk all about knitting, gardening, travel, and really anything in my library of interests at the moment.
You have inspired me to try the Ranunculus. I have knit tons of shawls and small items, but never a garment and this pattern has been calling me. Now I have to at least try! Thx for your enthusiasm and inspiration!
I just found your podcast and am so pleased I did! I have always resisted the Ranunculus (just because it is so popular) until I saw one knitted up in a particular yarn. I bought the yarn but have still been hesitant to start. I have been knitting longer than you have lived but have never made a top down garment. The way you described how you approached this knit as a new knitter was inspiring so I guess I just have to bite the bullet and try. I am still a bit concerned about fit - the body not too big (mutton dressed up as lamb) and more room in the sleeves - but guess they are hurdles to jump after I get started. Thanks again, I’ll certainly be checking out your past podcasts.
Thank you for such a great idea for leftover yarn!!!! Your tree display at the end of the video is beautiful!!!! Especially with the fairy lights!!!!!!
I absolutely love your podcast and am binge watching them all! You have given me confidence to try some new knitting techniques and I so appreciate that! Maine looks fabulous and I hope one day to plan a trip to that area and stuff myself on lobster and oysters! The yarn shops look so fantastic as well! Thanks for sharing and being so down to earth and a joy to watch! Appreciate you!
Watching this on Rhinebeck Saturday, and must admit that I’m happy and dry at home! Have been before, and thoroughly enjoyed, but will enjoy homemade pie here tonight with my husband! Knitters are the best-we willingly share knowledge and yarns whenever needed! Cheers to our group!🤩🧶👏🥰
We have a pottery studio and do shows all the time and your advice about selling out of things and being happy for the person rather than upset is such a great Attitude to have. Thank you so much. Looking forward to hearing All about Reinbeck.
Hehehe I love your wicked humour - talking about the Jennifer pot-luck gossip you heard in line last year. 🤭🤭 Have a great time. Australia is sooooo far away.
Hello there-I came across your video when I keyed in Rhinebeck. I have knitted 2 Ranunculus 4 Rhinebeck; 1 for the Gala Event and the other Ranunculus I will C how the days R. I thought it would B difficult 2 knit the Ranunculus, but it was surprisingly easy. Gr8 podcast. C U @ Rhinebeck! 🧶😆🧶
I loooove your Halibut sweater. It’s gorgeous ❤ I think you did a fabulous job. I hope you have the best time at Wool and folk and enjoy every second. I hope I can go next year 💖
That blue sweater you are wearing is stunning. Great color on you. Your Halibut sweater looks great. I finished my sweater last night. Hope to see you at Rhinebeck.
The halibut sweater is fab! Thank you for sharing your learning journey with us! It’s encouraging, as every project is teaching me something new too! I haven’t been knitting long enough to know what to expect every time. 😁 It’s finally cooling down here a little in South Alabama too. Enjoy the cuddly time with that sweater!
Sweater turned out great! Have at Rhinebeck! Turtle power. I'm going to start a winter ranunculus next week. I'm hoping for a 3/4 bell sleeve. I only have 2 skeins of the sock weight yarn so hope it's enough.
So glad this channel popped up it was lovely to watch. I’ve been thinking about knitting the ranunculus for last few days …spooky lol. I have had the pattern for a long time, just need to choose the yarn. Looking forward to future podcasts from you and I love your studio. X
as a fellow drop-spindler, I'm interested in what you find out about which spinning wheel is right for you! I tried one at WI sheep & wool festival last weekend, but there are so many choices for a big investment!
