Thanks for the vid, been dying to figure our how to grow them, also in my experience you can hold the stem Connecting to the bean pod and clip it with your thumb, it won't go off until it's in a jar or bag, helps contain it
you are correct humans and animals should not try to eat it. Here is one of the resources I use to see: plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/ageratina-altissima/
It's the one species we didn't bother to collect since they seed so well. There may still be some viable ones kicking around so if we find 'em we'll set some aside. @@ottawawildflowerseedlibrar8788
Thanks for this. I purchased a tiiiiiiiny seedling from Jardin Fletcher in June and it's become a shrub. Is it best to sow them directly into the ground in May, or sprout them first?
Agreed, germination rates is kind of hit or miss so I recommend sowing a lot of them. Sometimes when plants produce a lot of seeds, maybe it’s because it’s seeds are not the most viable so it opts for quantity instead of quality
Thank you so much! We have some fleabane that is native and growing in our area. I want to grow it in some garden beds in our yard to expand flowers for insects.
