My boyfriend and I wanna move to WV and your videos are so helpful!! Thank you so much! Still have a lot to look into to decide where to start (need to rent apartment for year or two max) and then where to buy a home later once married. You sure live in a beautiful state with clearly amazing people!

As an upcoming early retiree with my sights firmly set on WV, I had a realty website open during this video... I searched Shinnston. What's the catch ? Why is it so... affordable ? I live in NYC, so my comprehension of $ values are a bit skewed I guess (3k/month rent will do that for you...)...I saw a NICE 3 bed, 2 bath 1700sq ft on 40 acres for $300k. I think I have that in cash somewhere in my apt, lol... (kidding, but you know what I mean... seems so little money for so much). I'm in love with WV and haven't even been there yet... 10:04... oh, oh, oh.... I see that star on the sides of buildings so often when browsing real estate in WV... what's with that ? Texas is the Lone Star state...

Hey there, currently in Los Angeles. Eventually I will relocate & WV is on my radar. Two cities/towns I have interest in is Wheeling & Fairmont. How much of a difference b/t the two? One better than the other? My apologies for being a bit vague. I am still in the planning stage of this. Thanks! & appreciate your videos.

Fairmont is ok, depending on what you are looking for. I like Wheeling right now personally... thinking of moving myself, but that's just because I've finally found a functional medicine practitioner I like. 🤔

Please do a video about Wheeling. Not a historical video about it but a practical, what it's really like to live there video. Do you have to take highways to get to the grocery stores or are there Back Road alternatives. Thinking about retiring there and I don't want to do a lot of highway driving. Visit the dog park in Wheeling and give us your opinion. What is it like to own a dog in West Virginia? I love your videos! Thank you

Don’t move to Huntington, WV. Ongoing heroin/fentanyl epidemic. Lots of overdoses. Lots of crime. Lots of backpackers(thieves). No major industries. Move to Morgantown or it’s surrounding area. Don’t move to Huntington unless you want to be robbed, have your children exposed to heroin or your life ruined.

Hi, Is wv a good place for inmigrants? I'm not trying to chance your culture, totally oposite of that, but I've heard that wv doesn't like foreigners
@LivinginNorthCentralWV
@LivinginNorthCentralWV 2 года назад
You know, I've heard that too but I can't seem to figure out why? Foreigners are my favorite! I love learning about other people and cultures. And where I'm from in North Central WV we have quite a few, with seemingly more everyday. No matter where you live you'll always have some people who make you feel like an outsider. In the places in WV that are worth living (nice neighborhoods) you shouldn't have any problem. 😊

That could be anywhere in the state. What exactly do you like to do with your ATV? Race? Ride trails? ATVs are legal on the road and trails are everywhere. I'd suggest you look at North Central, just for convenience sake. But it your main concern is ATV you could look anywhere

Amanda or anyone reading this. I'm looking to get some indepth information about WV and different places to move to. I have places in mind but I would really like to be able to speak with someone to get a more personal detailed idea of places to look into. I would like to rent a small home to start in a rural area with places close by to get groceries etc. I just came from NH where I had the best of all worlds, private, quiet, great people and neighborhood, and close by to anything I needed. Looking for some help. Don't know to get in touch from here so need help with this also. Thanks

Hi Amanda and Katie. It would be awesome if you did some walking or driving tours of some of the towns in the area so we could see the local vibe. Also, how are people with masks in your area? Are people just ignoring any mandates or are they pretty draconian? Thank you so much.

I love my State but people need to know that the drug problem is just getting worse. I live near Shinnston. The rails to trails are filled with homeless backpackers on Meth. Shinnston, Fairmont and especially Clarksburg are full of them. The police do nothing until they harm someone. I agree Cheat Lake is nice but you better have deep pockets to buy there. I could go on and on but please be honest with people looking to move here.
@LivinginNorthCentralWV

Wow Vanessa! Thanks so much for the updated information! I did know Clarksburg was pretty bad and parts of Fairmont, but it saddens me to hear that Shinnston is too. 😔
@kidsdogsandlife
@kidsdogsandlife 3 года назад
If I may, I was looking at Clarksburg as a possibility for relocation - but now I'm concerned. The whole area is very bad or select parts? I'm from DC and lived in Western Maryland so I'm no stranger to this type of issue (and 'bad areas') but also do not want to live in an area where it is completely pervasive. Western Maryland is definitely a hotbed for meth issues but it was not to where one (who was not a part of that life) dealt with it in a continuous basis day to day.
@LivinginNorthCentralWV
@LivinginNorthCentralWV 2 года назад
Stephanie, I would say it really depends on the area you move to. But in my experience, and there is a huge drug problem in my town personally, but it is as you say to where someone who is not a part of that life doesn't really have to deal with it on a daily basis. I would expect, from what I've seen driving through, that Clarksburg is about the same. Yes, there is a drug problem. I definitely wouldn't let my kids out of my sight or send them to public school. But you aren't likely going to be directly approached or affected much unless you personally go out of your way to get involved (for good or I'll.)

Hi I'm 41 single receive SSDI and have been looking for my place in this world so to speak. I won't get into all my life details lol but I relocated to Alaska on 6/4/2020 from Oregon. It's been a dream of mine to live here for well over 16 years,i love the outdoors and nature. Fishing camping hiking hunting,all of it so Alaska is definitely amazing for that aspect of thing but im not so sure it's ment to be my forever place so I've been looking at other states and what they have to offer for a person in my life situation and I came across your other channel and watched a couple videos and followed a link to this one and was curious on what west virginia would have to offer a fella like myself... Do forgive me for the long drawn out post and if I should have asked my question on your other channel as well..lol thank you in advance for your time and any info that can be provided...

Parkersburg is very spread out town. It lays on the banks of the Ohio River with Ohio being right across the river. It is a great place to raise a family. There are lots of opportunities with chemical plants and Manufacturing. The town has seen a bit of a decline in population over the last 15 years but it's still thrives in certain areas of town. My parents still live there currently and they are in retirement age. It really depends on what you're looking for. I would love to speak with you further. You can give me a call text or email.
