So I played pre-patch in 2016, for like a year straight. Everything felt great: It felt like automatics owned closer range rights, leaving precision weapons to dominate at range. I loved grabbing the SMG because it FINALLY felt like it got its due after so many incarnations of it being worse than trash. I come back in 2024, everything is fucked, everyone uses pistol only, all the time... giving me CE vibes, hahaha can't overstate the irony that 343 couldn't escape the pitfalls of a halo game that came out FOURTEEN YEARS PRIOR
@SAClassHunterZero I couldn't agree more. At launch, it actually felt like it was viable to try to use other elements of the sandbox. Today, I feel like 99% of the kills in arena are magnum/sniper/rockets. Which is weird for a game that has over 100 weapons in its sandbox, not including forge creations. It seems the competitive community prefers it this way.
The problem with the sword is sprint, you can just full tilt sprint. Not sure what they did to the sword recently but knowing 343i it's probably the stupidest thing they could have gone with and did it. But listening to the "pro" plays is is pretty cringe.
Sword with grapple was the most brain-dead steamroll combo at the start of Infinite on maps like Recharge and needed a nerf. I have literally no interest in comp Halo but not every balance change is to spite casuals
And to answer your question, it took me a long time, but that's only because I wasted most of my steel on gear and executions for a long time. I'd say you can get them all in a month or so of playing (if you play as much as me). Which admittedly is a lot, so I'd recommend only getting the ones that speak to you. I know you started with kensei, and he has a ton of depth to him, which I'd actually love to make a video about him.
@51TD0wN a month aye ? Hmm, I guess I could put warframe and first descendants down a bit (made way much progress) also I'll look forward to the Kensei guide in the near future. So far teaching myself from trials and errors has been very challenging. I've been feinting and finishing with double down strike heavy with Kensei.

@MainGoldDragon yeah but once they know my moves and tricks, I'm easy to read. I want to expand my horizons in this game , kinda why I ask the bigman how long it takes to get all the characters 🤔 that way I could understand my foe by being in their shoes
But like you said, you TRADED hits. I can sit in the cockpit of an A-10 warthog and have great damage potiential but if i get shot in the face i still dont have the back of my head anymore. Holdinging a sword doesnt make you take less damage from the 2 ton trauma-mech punching you
I get the feeling we're always going to disagree on this, but it is a top-tier power weapon, supposedly on the same level as the rocket launcher. It's supposed to feel powerful. It doesn't work that way in any other Halo game for a reason, and it's an odd decision considering Halo Infinite has a notoriously inconsistent melee system which diminishes the sword even further. As for your logical argument, that's like saying that holding an actual sword doesn't prevent a boxer from punching you in the face. The thing is, there is now a sword between you and the boxer. The sword extends your reach, meaning he has to get past the sword in order to touch you. If you stab him as he goes to punch you, his punching power would be greatly reduced, cause he's been impaled, and that kind of interferes with power generation.

It came from a discord call around the time this came out. They were playing with some pookie bear looking item in a game, and one of them destroyed it. I have to look around to see if I have the file.

It was a good time, best machinima ive seen in years...funny enough it was years ago that this uploaded hahaha Oh, and trust me, I know what its like to be 3/4ths of a way through a project (or even completely done) and for some odd reason just never touch it again hahaha I got like four videos on my hard drive that have been done for well over a year or two that will probably never see the light of day 😂😂😂😂 (and they are my favorites).

The stalker rifle just seems too bulky imo. But yet again it feels like 343i are just switching out weapon designs to implement their own stuff. They did this with the Storm rifle over the plasma rifle, the stalker rifle over the carbine, the combat rifle over the DMR, etc. Also I wish they would fix the tracer rounds from the warthog, they look like little jelly beans coming out of the gun and not bullets.
Oh I totally agree, I think the design of the carbine is much nicer. It's more the gameplay of the stalker that I was talking about, visually the stalker looks clunky af. I wish they would just consider any weapon in Halo 3 to be a must have. It still feels weird to me that 343 never launched a game with the plasma rifle. They seem to love change for the sake of change, and I wish they'd understand that when we play Halo we just want to see our favourite iconic stuff from the IP. We don't need constant new gimmicks.
I do miss the Reach weapons. From what I've seen they probably tried to give the plasma pistol more an offensive kick, as to how good that'd be not sure.

Peackeeper without a dash is just a standing stick that only offers revenge to enemies in 4v4 a bash helps a lot. And the damage doesnt help againt gankers 😢
