when you have multiple models from the same army in combat with an enemy model you can't shield with some and attack with others I don't think it's one of the other
enojoying the series, like hearing about how you are sourcing the models etc etc. Really cool you got some minis out of the local used mini bin. Cant find any of those in the area where i live.
Love the content dude, would you consider doing some faction overview/tactics videos for new players like me? Also any link for the sweet lofi mix :) cheers
Thanks for watching! Here is a link to the Lord of the Rings lofi playlist: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d9YM_9CVmtc.html Regarding the faction overviews/tactics, Nathan and Tyler who have both been on the channel are starting up a podcast and will be covering things like that. They are much better then me at MESBG and will be able provide better insights : ) I will share a link to the podcast once they fire it up!
gg. all of the sound comes from my left headphone/speaker however. And the headphone is not the problem. It works perfectly well for any other youtube video.
Interesting. Thanks for letting me know I don’t know that I’ve ever had that issue with an export. I’ll check the settings and see if I can get it sorted. Cheers!
It is a sweet board Tyler put together for sure. I wish my big bird did more work in this one though. Angmar is equipped so well to deal with him though. Paralyze is brutal.
What a horrible comment. How about something constructive or show us how great you can make a battle report so we can all learn from your extensive experience.
Good Luck with the project, nice little video you talked well and presented your minis clearly. It's only if i finish my Main Army but High Elves are going to be next for sure. I think a good colour scheme will help tie them together but right now i think there's a little too many mixed aesthetics, the Bolt Thrower and Lumineth Characters are fine and the Lumineth Archers would make great Shadow Warriors or Sisters of Avelorn (i think that's the name, they are a top pick btw) but are maybe a bit fancy to be militia archers, the Seaguard would have you covered there anyways. However i think the Lion renders you've chosen are a step too far, imo, i would strongly suggest you look for ones a bit closer to the IP in looks (the Lion animals though are awesome, keep those for sure). Quick search Holo Miniatures 'highborn elves' have some decent White Lions, 'Silvermoor elves' are nice and a guy called elfhead3d does awesome IP-fitting elves but no Lions yet that i could see sadly 😞.
Thanks for watching! I grabbed a white lion hero from Holo miniatures and I think he looks pretty neat. I’d definitely be open to getting more of there elves. I’m hoping the sisters of avelorn will come back in stock through gw as I really like the official sculpts and want to grab a box. I think for now I’m rolling with the white lion 3D prints I have. Though, it’s primarily due to a lack of hobby budget for this project. My big purchases next are going to be some kind of dragon so I can run a dragon mage at 2k points. Hopefully the official kit also comes back in stock on gw. I may try to use a 3D print dragon for now but it’s tough to gauge how well they will fit on the dragon base size. Next episode I will put a breakdown of the money I’ve spent so far on this army and I think people will be surprised at how inexpensive it’s been so far since I’ve been cobbling it together somewhat thriftily.
Haha i understand the sentiment. I know Lumineth gets a lot of hate, but I really like the ridiculous aesthetic, especially for elves. I’d even use the huge cow if I could think of a suitable profile to proxy it as
Oh man! Haha that’s pushing me back towards doing the whole army in this scheme. I’ll paint up some test minis from each unit for Episode 2 and share the results.
Very cool and some nice bargain finds there. My main army growing up was High Elves. I had an until of Dragon princes that I had converted to be riding lions from the chariot packs instead of the lame horse sculpts from back then. Loved using that unit, tho their tails made it’s a nightmare if anybody ever got a rear charge on me.
I love unique conversions like that. Makes an army feel special. I wish I could find a few of the white lion chariot kits at a reasonable price. Best I’ve seen lately is around $70 on eBay.
Great project. This helps motivate me. I don't really care for your red/seafoam/dirty gold scheme. I agree with the earlier commenter about the seafoam lacking depth. I'm terrible at picking color schemes, and I can only really say what I like. Thanks very much for posting this video. Your hard work and passion are evident!
Thanks so much for your feedback. I think over the years I’ve painted so many armies for different games that I feel the need to try to always find a different color scheme but sometimes the desire to find something fresh leads to something just odd lol I’m thinking I’ll drop the sea foam color and go with a red, gold, and a neutral color like black, grey, or white.
On one hand the different ranges lack cohesion. On the other they come from different provinces of Ulthuan. Im mixed about this as it doesnt “look” old world. Maybe once its painted, but I think the heads/helms are just off on the new stuff.
Yeah, I agree there’s definitely a lack of cohesion mixing the ranges at this stage. I’m hoping that having them all painted in a cohesive color scheme will pull it all together. And if not, I guess I’ll lean into the different provinces theme : D
That could be cool. Headswaps might not be too tough. Maybe 3D printed heads? My big struggle right now is figuring out a good mini for a dragon and I’d like to magnetize the rider so it can be a mage or a prince.
Wow! Small world. So glad you found the battle report and amazing job on the board!! Would love to see more of your work or roll some dice with you sometime.
Yes we’re mostly around Sacramento but have some players from the Bay Area as well. It’s funny, we met to play at Hammerhead games in Sacramento and this board was just hanging out there. The store was nice enough to let us play in it. Did you build this board for a friend initially or was it a commission?
There was this beautiful missed play: 5D6 black dart on the warrior in front of galadriel from Khamul, heroic combat with Khamul into galadriel and because he can go to F6 with his ability he will probably win. That would have been pretty funny. Also, why did the elves not just run backwards? They might have stopped the WK from getting through. Great battle rep though, love to see 2 fell beasts!
WK charged into a lone galadhrim warrior with a heroic combat and used his move after killing him to fly nearly off the board edge. Elves at speed 6 just didn’t have enough move to stop him since he is so fast on the fell beast. Lots of things I’d have tried differently if I got to try the game from the start again. I think I learn a few new things each game. Agreed though the two fell beasts looks awesome on the board.
Not sure it mattered at any point but you can actually use shieldwall while prone, it's just that the two guys you are in contact with have to be non-prone
On one hand the Elves deserve some hugs after the nonsense that happened to them this game, on the other hand Elves deserve all the nonsense that happens to them, so idk what to do.
