I have both and the Audeze is better for overall sound quality. You hear every footstep as well as good separation. The A50’s are more comfortable though.
@@renardfields2975 I do agree with this Audeze you get used to the weight and fit but A50 is more comfortable (in my case using the wicked cushion ear cups)
Thank you sir I have finally retired my A50’s after like 4-5 years of use I believe my base station has gave up on me….. my audio Output doesn’t light up on the base and I can’t hear the voice chat I only hear the game ……. I think ima go with the Maxwells …….
@@merkshotit3305 They served you well and that’s great to hear they lasted for that timeframe. Hope you love the maxwells for your gaming, the wait for Audeze to ship is hard but they are worth it!
These new A50X just came out in January. They are much better than the old ones as they use normal wall outlet power and HDMI for game audio coming from consoles.
@@htl4life1 any games in particular? Personally Maxwell would be my choice for most games. Astro might have specific tunes available for certain games that may make it better in certain circumstances.
@_TeaRex_Gaming just warzone I liked the a50 but I noticed you said maxwell was better for that I have both but I need to return 1. Idk if I had some settings off
@@htl4life1 personally I’ve enjoyed the Maxwell better for that game. Ensure your headset and dongle are updated and try some of the eq settings here for warzone specifically. www.audeze.com/pages/maxwell-eq-presets
I returned the Maxwell. Doesn’t stay connected, and had a crackling noise every once in a while. Sometimes wouldn’t connect right away. They do sound great, but these issues made me return them. Got the A50x, no issues with disconnects, turns on right away, and they sound pretty good. Not Maxwell good. But I couldn’t be happier.
Sorry to hear that about the issues with the Audeze Maxwell. Unfortunately it happens sometimes even with good quality control. Good to hear the A50x aren't giving you trouble.
Hey thank you for posting this, would you be able to tell me why the speed was an issue? Did it seem like frames or voice speed issue? I would like to correct this going forward.
@_TeaRex_Gaming The info of the video was really good. The delivery was okay. The tone and sentence structure was sound, but the speed of which everything was given was slow. Remember that headsets aren't exactly exciting. We're all excited to get a new headset, but to watch a review on them isn't. We want the info but don't want to watch the video forever to get it. Just speak quicker. (:
I just got my a50x yesterday (hints why I’m looking at videos) did you notice that the a50x were low? Them at max volume is about 60 percent of my arctis nova pros.
My apologies for the very late reply. Personally I did notice they aren’t as loud as my Audeze but when I changed the ear cups to wicked cushion that created a better seal around my ears and helped make the A50x sound louder even at lower volume %. Hope that helps
Yes Audeze has one specific for the Xbox/PC and then another for PS5/PC. For Astro A50x I did not do a custom EQ with my own settings, I used the ones on the app and the community ones for Astro as well, quite a wide variety there to try out.
@@_TeaRex_Gaming I purchased mine yesterday. I’m enjoying the sound as much better if you have a link so I can get some good EQ settings for FPS game. I’ll be very happy.
@@hp1799 the only ones I tried before are at Audeze’s website and GadgetryTech helped make them, try the Warzone one. www.audeze.com/pages/maxwell-eq-presets
Maxwell has better noise isolation from background noises than A50x. This can drown out speech quality on the A50x causing some speech to not get captured and have small breaks during recording at times. That's my experience with it through usage of both headphones.
@@_TeaRex_Gaming i get what you are saying but the base sound quality with no sort of noise gate imo is best with the astros they just sound so real and with all other wireless headsets its not as good. And for the noise isolation yes the ones in the Logitech software are garbage but you can use krisp or other softwares for the noise isolation. Im saying all this from videos i saw, but im still doing more research as i would be upgrading from the black shark v2 pro which i bought for the mic alone.
@@xcasder7885 Thank you for the detailed insight, I will keep those softwares and the noise gate comment In mind for a future video when testing other headsets with the A50x and Audeze regarding the mic quality and the features associated.
@robrahb5283 as someone that travels a lot i dont want to have two things to carry around, and since im getting value with great audio and microphone its good enough for me. 380$ headset is better than having a 200 $ mic and a 180$ headset imo.
@_TeaRex_Gaming the problem is I can't buy the audeze maxwell here in Aus. Would have to buy from America and ship. I think the astro a50x will be a good choice for me anyway.
Hello, are you asking if you can have the headset plugged in to your PS5 with the PS5 on and still use it via Bluetooth with a different device? The answer to this is yes just hit the Bluetooth Button on the headset while playing PS5.
@@_TeaRex_Gaming yes i want to use it for ps5 to play and listening to other device via bluetooth at the same time, thanks for answer you deserve 1m subs
Good review, I’m currently looking at getting these for my ps5,yes there are other headsets out there, but more interested in the Astro’s. Does the chat mix work with these? And can you use these without using HDMI and just use usb-c and usb-a?
Hey there, yes the chat mix function on the headset works just fine in balancing game audio and chat audio. If you’re asking if the PlayStation audio control quick setting works in controlling the audio mix, in my experience it works too. From my testing you do not need to have the hdmi plugged in and can use just the usb connection to get it going, but you will not be able to use the game/voice balancer then and could be limited in audio quality.
@@_TeaRex_Gaming Thanks for replying, That’s good about the chat mix, And I can understand the hdmi part, just a pain to do it that way lol . But will test it both ways.
I had the very first audeze head phones. Sound quality was definitely the best at that time. But these astros are the best astros since the gen 1’s. It’s just the Astros isn’t getting that loud for me. Maybe I need to break them in more
Hi I have all three of those headphones I regret buying the audeze maxwell I've had mine for four months now and they been sitting on my desk for three months now there too too too heavy for every day usage they give me a headache it's like putting a helmet on the astro a50x there kinda heavy and the bass Is too much the pulse elite they been my daily driver there the best and the comfort is second to none especially if you play on ps5 there the best headphones on the market and the price for them there a steal sony could of charge a lot more thanks sony stay safe and happy gaming to all
Hey there, I do agree the Audeze have a weight to them but I felt after wearing for 2 days I was accustomed to it and didn't notice their weight at that point onwards. Have you tried using Wicked Cushion earcups with the Maxwell? They are slightly bigger and sit around the ear more comfortable maybe help alleviate some of the weight. I agree the Pulse Elite are very lightweight, almost like you aren't wearing any headphones, and are a great value for their price with what the bring to PS5.
Yes I have evey color in the wicked cushions for the audeze maxwell even the headband it's just makes them heavier and there not comfy I play 6 to 8 hours a day every single day and the pulse I can wear all day and night there so comfy I might lose a little bit of sound against the maxwell but it's not much of a difference and comfort is king thank you
Do you mind uploading a clip of the eq setting for your Maxwells and astro 50x. Just curious if you tuned the astro or just put them on and said nah these suck compared to maxwell.
Great video man this was just what I was looking for. Do you think with eq that the maxwells can be really good with hearing footsteps? I am really stuck if I should get the maxwells because I play really competitively and I’ve heard a lot of people say that the maxwells aren’t good for imaging, but I don’t see how that’s possible with the eq.
Thank you for checking the video out. Is there a game in particular you are playing that footsteps are a focal point? COD? I don't mind trying it out and trying some EQs to get a better idea before responding. In my experience I feel some of the COD games have moved away from letting headsets really have a huge advantage of hearing footsteps (directional) from what they used to be in COD MW the original game.
@@_TeaRex_Gaming I play rainbow six siege but I just want to know if they can be tuned for ever game, I’ve heard a lot of people say that the maxwells are bad for imaging and it’s kind of hard to believe that because the pulse elites are using the same drivers and they are insane.
Got you. Audeze HQ is the app I have that allows me to tune a lot the hz lvls and save to 4 different presets on top of the 6 base EQs that come with them. There is also a preset on their website (www.audeze.com/pages/maxwell-eq-presets) for Rainbow Six Siege@@amritdhaliwal2988 .
