You dont get it. Jesus LITERALLY GAVE US THE AUTHORITY TO DO THESE THINGS. He gave us the authority to absolve sins (only God can forgive sins but priests can absolve people of their sins meaning God does it through the priest). Papal infallability is only for extreme cases where the teaching office of the Church is used and he can speak ex cathedra and also we emphasise works not because they save us, they dont, but because we actually believe what the Bible says and not what some random dude in the 1500s said was true and we dont try to do the bare minimum to be saved out of false humility. Look at Church history, was it corrupted? Also for 1 and 2 Maccabees, how are you to say that it is unbiblical if its literally been in the Bible for 2000 years. If not, then how do we know that Revelation is in the Bible or Isaiah, or even Exodus. Same argument, so we can make a little test on this. If you wanna look further, pls see Catholic Answers
The issue you need to discuss is not whether justification before God is based on Christ's work and not anything the sinner does. The issue you need to discuss is the nature of faith. Does genuine faith continue and produce obedience? That is the issue.
Are you saying that Paul was a false teacher? When he preached the gospel, he told his hearers that the should repent and turn to God and do works that were suitable to their repentance.
It would help if you would learn that salvation is too broad a term to use in this discussion. If one of these teachers stated that a person must produce works of obedience as the basis of their justification before God, that would be heresy. No one is saying that. Piper is right. Jusrification before God is based on nothing but Christ's obedience [both active and passive ] ; glorification is not. Those who do not persevere in faith have never truly believed.
Have you even read MacArthur's definition of justification? It is so clear that neither he nor anyone else who teaches so-called lordship salvation believes anyone must "make Jesus Lord. He is Lord whether you recognize it or not. It is also clear that confessing that He is Lord and that one desires to obey Him has nothing to do with the basis of one's justification before God. Please attempt to educate yourself before commenting on such matters.

Order doesn't just spring up from out of the blue. No archeological find has ever disproved the bible, quite the opposite, actually. I have some questions for those who believe in eternal, conscious torment. 1. Does God love the people in hell - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 2. Does God show mercy to the people in hell - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 3. Why should we love our enemies when God tortures his enemies? 4. If the punishment for our sins is eternal hell, and if Jesus took our punishment on the cross, can you confirm that Jesus will be eternally punished - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 5. Do you believe that all humans have an eternal spirit which suffers torture in hell - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 6. Do you believe that the wages of sin is eternal torture - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 7. Do you believe that God so loved the world that whoever believes in him will not suffer eternal, conscious torment but have eternal life - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 8. Do you believe that broad is the road that leads to eternal, conscious torment but narrow is the road that leads to life - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 9.Do you believe that Hades and all those in it shall be kept alive in the Lake of Fire - if so please provide your scriptural basis. 10. Do you believe that those in the lake of fire shall have a second life or a second death - please provide a scriptural basis. 11. Do you believe that sinners shall be tormented body and soul in hell - please provide a scriptural basis. 12. Since all of God's judgements are worthy of praise - should be praise God for sending people to hell (including our family members)? 13. Does the soul that sins suffer eternal, conscious torment? 14.Should sinners have a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will provide eternal, conscious torment to the enemies of God? 15. Will sinners suffer eternal, conscious torment in the presence of Jesus or away from the presence of Jesus - please provide your scriptural basis.
I belive in annhalitonism that eveyrone is punished differently in hell based on their actions and sins after their punishment they cease to exist. but their punishment will be longer then the sins committed or deppeding on the sin. if u rape someone for 10 minutes u get punished more then for 10 minutes. if u are high for 3 hours u sin longer but not worse so the exact time or type of punishment can wary but I belive its just and temporary and the wicked will cease to exist one day

These scriptures state that a general revelation of God's existence is available to all. It further states that suppressing this knowledge, a person will not glorify God as being God and will not be thankful to God, which will result in their WORSHIP and SERVITUDE going to things that have been created. The result of this transgression is to sinful passions, Romans 1:26, and to a depraved mind, 1:28. These passages say that if God, through Jesus Christ, is denied both WORSHIP AND SERVITUDE, then God Himself will fix it so that YOU WILL GIVE HIM NEITHER WORSHIP NOR SERVITUDE. In my mind, the concept of SERVICE or SERVITUDE being inextricably linked to WORSHIP, makes for an incredibly powerful argument for Lordship Salvation. I don't want to be little ol sinner me who cant find one pastor in my area who doesn't teach Lordship salvation. even if they say they believe in salvation by grace, they blindly contradict themselves and can't believe there's are Christians who just don't gave spiritual maturity to an appropriate level.
The key notion to understand regarding God choosing us is that such a choice is not without criteria, and that criteria is often spelled out in scripture, "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved".

Do you not understand the eternal nature of God? He offers every human being the choice of truth, most do not accept it and are lost. If God knows the end of every human being from the beginning, it is not God who “does not want”...
The book of Paul has been largely disproven, and at least half of the books have been shown as not being written by him. He wasn't a disciple, he never met Jesus, and the actual disciples reportedly wanted to kill him for spreading lies. But yeah, base your sermon on this delusional con man.
Again, the question is if Jesus died for all, then why are not all people going to heaven. If God is all love, then why are people in hell. Dont use love to define God....God is a just God.....The bible tells us why we are picked. ..because of his good a d kind will.
