The story that she weaves, each note a thread in a sonic tapestry that gives comfort and warmth to my soul. I can never cry for myself... but her music allows me to grieve for those in her stories and thus feel release for my own sorrows. I'll never meet Anais, but my world is a better place because she choose to share her magic with us.

January 10, 2024 - Dear Anais (love Your name), I'm forwarding this to You cause You were in Jack Hardy's Camp KoHo at Kerrville Folk Festival where I was doing a documentary which I gave to the festival with all the write ups ad everything. It was a lot of material. I saw You there once or twice but was intimidated by You ravishing beauty seriously Anais. What a Goddess You are. "Bright Star" = "Najmu 'th-thaaqib" in Arabic, is one of the names of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him). Anais may have known this since she studied Arabic at Midd...(PS: Salaams to Noah. From Mas, class of 2001)
The magic that is in Anais' voice is inbetween the phrasing. Just enough room to let the echo breathe. The story telling takes you with her dreams. And while this next piece is wrong to make comparisons, Anais could be another mother's daughter of Leonard Cohen. It's somewhere in those jeans! She is so beautiful and disarming, especially when she always looks to her friend at her side as if to ask his acknowledgement. Anais doesn't need it. Ever!
