It’s not deliberately hard, the democrats and republicans have made it easier for their party’s base to vote. Voting is a personal responsibility, if you’re going to be an independent then be independent.
This is a completely legitimate grassroots orginization located in another state other than AZ why shouldn’t people outside of our state get to vote in our local politics. There are a lot of people who identify as independent of state affiliation who want to vote in AZ elections. “Let us vote”.

Back in 2000, I tried to register as a Republican so I could vote for John McCain in the primary. For some reason it didn't go through. That pissed me off so I voted for Gore in the general. We were a swing state at the time, as well. Also, pissed me off when I found out that Gore should have actually won, and Bush only won b/c they ran out the clock by creating a ruckus. It was kind of a small scale Jan 6 (with no serious injuries or deaths or property damage that I'm aware of.), done in Florida, and much more effective. They won. They pulled it off, and actually stole the election. I have to admit I was also kind of impressed. (Credit where credit is due.)
In Virginia you choose which primary you want to vote in Republican or Democrat, each time. You don't get to vote twice. Did he want to vote in both primaries is that what is so "morally repugnant"?
I'm unaffiliated in CT and can't vote in any primaries. If I cared any less, I'd be dead. Those are partisan things, not votes of any consequence. I haven't missed a true election of ANY size (outside of primaries) in 44 years. If he doesn't like his affiliation, change it.

@@DavidLongo22 Except that in 85% of elections, the election was over in the primary. Nearly all legislative districts in the country are uncompetitive in the general election. If you want a say, you have to voice that say in the primary.

As a member of the Libertarian party, I find this laughable. A primary is by definition a function of a political party. My party pays for their own primary and party members choose their candidates. Not a dime or an ounce of effort comes from any government. These fat cat cat major parties have, in an effort to get other people to pay for their primary and balloting, have turned the whole thing into another political boondoggle that costs taxpayers and becomes something to fight over. Great job, guys.
Missouri has different-colored ballots for Democrat and Republican tickets. (Also others, which a few choose) During the primary, we all go in and tell the poll workers which party we'll be voting, and they'll give us the appropriate ballot. Any non-party issues like road taxes, etc are included on all ballots, regardless of party affiliation.
He can vote. He just can’t vote in the primary for a party to which he doesn’t belong. But he can vote in the general election. He is in no different situation than a Republican in California or Chicago (or anybody in the Green Party or Libertarian Party). He is just sad because he can’t get his way.
A Republican in California can vote in an open primary. A Republican in Chicago chooses a ballot, which is better but not ideal. Where Republicans and independents have next to no voting power, we want them to, and support open primary efforts (New York, DC, etc are examples of such places). We advocate for open primaries there, too.
Then you're missing the point. The primary, for better or worse, is THE election to get your voice heard. He's being prevented from having a say. You're arguing details because if the voting allows everyone to participate, then your party might not win.
